Large local shop for anything to do with bikes. Knowledgeable staff

Very nice staff. I had a bike problem on my way to Wembley and found them on Google Maps. I popped in and the mechanic sorted my bike out immediately. My only problem was that they have many tools for sale.

Recently I had to have some repairs and adjustments done on my bike so I brought it here. Received the same friendly and efficient service I got when I purchased it , many years ago, from the same store. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get bike stuff done.

I have got all my bikes from them for the last 15 years. That is an average of £1000 every 2 years in addition to services and parts. I went there for a service a few days ago. The next day my pedal fell so not having the right key I dropped by. I also purchased some inner tubes. The rude staff member charge me £6 to put a screw back after I have just spend £100 on service and accesories. He then went onto arguing with me and being extremely rude. Not coming back ever the place has changed so much.

I have been going to this shop for a few years now and today was the last day I will ever go. At the beginning of August 2016 I brought two bikes, the manager was very helpful and gave me lots of info about the bikes and that was all good, he told me to come back in 6 weeks for a first free service. I came today which is about 10 weeks after and another manager there said sorry you needed to come 6 weeks after, maybe 2 or 3 days after would have been fine but now it's too late, I was shocked because I thought they meant minimum 6 weeks after once we had a chance to actually ride the bikes and for any issues to show up such as gears jumping. He said sorry it's company policy, I thought what kind of local shop is this, one that does not care about it's customers, no one told me that I had to bring the bikes back 6 weeks after exactly after i brought them give or take 3 days otherwise I would have! And isn't a manager supposed to have a certain amount of discretion to say ok I can see you have brought these in good will, next time bring them back exactly 6 weeks after and then just service them for me, I'm not trying to pull a fast one or anything I am bringing them back in good faith, but no, MR manager would rather loose a customer of a long time in the past and future. This is not what you call customer service, this manager needs some serious training to learn what customer service is.

The mechanic was there for the whole time and he lifted the bikes span the wheels and changed the gears a few times on both bikes and proceeded to tell me that the bikes were fine! Before I brought the bikes in both bikes had the gears jumping on them, but he said no it's fine.... I am the one riding the bikes, I know what I am talking about!

Finally, something else that really annoyed me today, I also brought in my sons BMX that needed the back wheels fixing, it's a bike that is barely a year old, my son does not ride it much. I was told I had to pay £60 for a new back wheel, all that is broken is the hub or whatever it's called (when the pedals are pressed they just spin and the wheel doesn't turn), the bike is just bad quality so much so that you can't even replace individual parts but have to buy a whole new expensive wheel, they didn't care that I brought the bike from them and that it had not been used much and was barely a year old, I had to pay £60 if I wanted this fixed. Next it was our fault that this crap part was broken because the chain was rusty and we had not oiled it and maintained it... what could I say, i'm not a bike specialist, I just know this thing did not last at all, rusty chain or not. By the way, this happened before the other stuff I explained above and once they told me about the other two bikes I thought sod this i'm not fixing this bmx either and walked out and told them they'd lost a customer. I will find another bike shop, and don't post me a standard message saying to contact your customer service because I will never be back.

Would not recommend. Incompetent staff. I paid £42 for a full bike service and put all confidence into technicians as they assured me everything was in full complete working order and nothing needed to be changed. A few weeks later, I noticed my back brakes were not working and took it to a local Evans on the way home. They said I needed new cabling for back brakes and new brake pads for the front and back. This was an additional expense and inconvenience that could have been prevented if cycle king had done their job properly.

Always found staff helpful whether buying a bike or accessories.
