Cygnet Rowing Club

About Cygnet Rowing Club

2020 marked the 130th season of Cygnet Rowing Club, based on the Middlesex bank of the River Thames in Barnes, west London. We're just a few short weeks from kicking off the 2022 /23 season at Cygnet Rowing Club and our doors are open for new recruits. Whether it's a return to rowing or you want to learn the sport we love, we'll can't wait for you to join us. Our squad runs in the knowledge that our rowers live and work in busy lives but run a full fitness training plan to meet our ambition and compete on the River Thames and further afield. Cygnet Rowing Club is a small, friendly rowing club based at the Civil Service Boat House in the shadow of Barnes Railway Bridge. As the name of our boat house implies, we're a Civil Service club but you don't have to be a Civil Servant to join. Cygnet Rowing Club welcomes new oarsmen of all abilities – from the experienced novice to the Henley aspirant - and has a coached training program that can be adapted to suit all. Cygnet runs Learn to Row courses for complete beginners during the year – for more information please visit our Learn to Row page. Cygnet Rowing Club is predominantly a men's club because we share our boathouse with our sister rowing club Barnes Bridge Ladies (BBLRC) who specifically cater for women rowers. BBLRC also run Learn to Row courses and welcome more experienced new members. Please visit: BBLRC for more information.
