Beth from Wilby Tree Surgeons Limited proving that there's no challenge too daring or crazy when it's raising money for a great cause! She zipwired the 830 meter zip line that goes from Littlebrook Power Station in London all the way to the Queen Elizabeth II bridge, raising a total of £2,771 of which the Hospice will receive 75%! Fancy doing something crazy for the Hospice? Call Sarah on 01604 973346 for fundraising support

Walking is a brilliant way of doing some regular gentle physical activity and attending a group can help with motivation, build structure in your week and be fun! So why not come along to our Walking Group which meets every Monday at the Day Hospice. Patients, relatives, volunteers and staff are all welcome! We have two lengths of walk, either in our gardens or in Eastfield Park and our therapy team will give advice on mobility and falls prevention, all rounded off with a cup a tea and a chat afterwards. Please call the day Hospice on 01604 678144 for more information

Cynthia Spencer Hospice invites you to dedicate a light on our tree of love to remember a loved one who won't be with you this Christmas. By dedicating a light to a loved one you will be remembering them and all the moments that brightened up your life. You will also be helping Cynthia Spencer Hospice to light up the lives of patients and their families, not only at Christmas, but the whole year through.
The services are informal and warm celebrations during which our Christm...as tree lights will be illuminated in dedication to those who brightened up our lives but who are no longer with us. Both events will feature readings, carols from local choirs, solos from soprano Alison Roddy and lots of quiet moments for reflection. Our services are free to attend, and open to all, not just those touched by Cynthia Spencer Hospice and regardless of faith.
Dedicate a light and make your donation now by visiting https://www.cynthiaspencer.org.uk/event/t reeoflove. You can also complete a dedication form by hand which you can find at the Hospice, at the Donation Station or at any of our shops. To make a dedication and donation over the telephone please call 01604 973340. Thank you

Well, I 'only' went to CSF to try to do something about my pain control, rather than for end of life care, but I can only endorse the very high opinions expressed by everyone else. My fortnight's stay was made as pleasant as it could possibly be by the kindness and warmth of all the staff - though I never spotted the Matron except in her office - whether doctor, administrator, cleaner, or nurse. I had a hilarious misunderstanding over shaving with one of the latter, who shall remain anonymous (but you know who you are, Sarah!) which we all enjoyed. The enthusiastic involvement of my carers during my stay was a notable plus, and we are very grateful for the loving attention evident from arrival to departure.

Was there for acting for pitures for their website. The staff were lovely and caring, when talked to one off the staff about my nan and friend they were very understanding. It was a lovely place.

Over the last few years 4 members of my family have been patients of Cynthia Spencer hospice and each and every time they were treated with the highest quality of care and dignity, genuine empathy and compassion, not only for them but for us the family too. I have nothing but praise for the fantastic work they do. A big thank you to all the staff that work there, you are amazing !

My lovely Dad was in Cynthia Spencer for the final week of his life. The care, compassion and support both he and we received genuinely meant everything. It's hard to put into words how different members of staff supported us in so many ways from advice on how to support my children to the wonderful nurse who really listened to and understood Dad and finally for providing a room so that I could stay and be with him. I'll always be so thankful to the hospice for all you did.

My father was admitted to the hospice on the 6th December 2016 and lost his battle against prostate and bone cancer yesterday the 28th January 2017. My family and I cannot thank the hospice enough for the care my father got. The nurses, health care assistance's and catering staff are amazing and made my father's last few weeks of his life the best he and we could of wished for. The engagement and banter the staff had with my father made him so happy as they had to put up with his grumpy moods at times. Thank you all and will try and support your amazing work as much as I can.

Just been to dress the tree with a message in memory of my husband Terry. I went along for a coffee with a good friend and ended up singing Rudolph with another volunteer. What a wonderful place Cynthia Spencer is. Having been a volunteer as well as a carer of a patient who was looked after so well in the last weeks of his life I cannot praise this hospice enough.

I’m at the hospice now working on my pain control. I have found it to be a lovely place with great staff

Was really worried about being admitted but so far so good

User

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Cynthia Spencer. I was recently admitted for a blood transfusion which necessitated an overnight stay. This wasn't my first visit as last September I became an in-patient for several weeks & this brief stay felt like coming home to a place where nothing is too much trouble. Many thanks to each & every member of staff for all your dedication & hard work, always carried out with a smile. Margaret Banwell (& family)
