Xronia polla to all those celebrating their name day today for Epiphany or Theofania and the baptism of Christ!
There are many traditions that have developed in the Orthodox faith, from the blessing of the water and retrieving of the cross by those who brave the freezing temperatures, to the story of the troublesome kallikantzari and warding them off with a fresh batch of #loukmades to stop their naughty antics for the rest of the year.
We know which tradition we prefer..........

The biggest Cypriot event outside of Cyprus is back for the 37th year and it is going to be bigger and better than ever!!
For everyone who loves food, drink, culture and a party vibe, CyWineFest is for you.
With UNLIMITED wine tasting with some of Cyprus' award winning wines, the CyWineFest Cocktail Bar, Laiko Kafenio serving Cypriot coffee and frappes, as well as souvlakia, traditional toasted sandwiches, calamari, kleftiko, koubes, loukmades, ice cream and a whole range of... sweet and savoury treats to try and buy, you won't be leaving hungry!!!!
All this mixed in with a fantastic entertainment programme of both traditional Cypriot dances and musicians and as always the grand finale of a headline Greek singer.

This is a fantastic community event to be proud of. A lot of time and effort is put into organising it and we should all show our support to keep it going.

User

There was a much greater variety of Cypriot wines this year but I would still love to see so much more!

User

It was great to see so many old friends. ... by old I mean friends from my childhood. ... not like 'geriatric' .. and no ... They're not (quite) the same thing (yet)! Great venue. Bouzouki Fever were awesome! My son played the leading bouzouki so I may be just a tad biased! All round good, greek fun! Look forward to doing it all again next year ... αν θέλει ο Θεός!

User

User

Excellent work from all the volunteers and organisers. Congratulations are in order this year was a huge success!

User

At first I had a bad impression of Cypriot Wines; and was a typical consumer of French, Spanish, Italian etc but I was pleasantly surprised to discover some very excellent wines!

The event as whole is something I look forward to every year! I'm so very impressed that this event has a 33year history!

User

A true celebration of Cypriotness! A great way to discover Cypriot culture!

User

A fantastic community event!

When I released my book this event gave me great exposure and as a direct result of this event my sales increased.

User

Lovely night highlight of which was the singer who did not disappoint! We are fortunate to have the opportunity for Greeks to come together and celebrate their heritage support their friends and families and see singers we admire, thanks to all the organisers

User

Great evening, great food and much better than previous years but would benefit from more stalls. Also surprised there was only one or two stalls with wine for an event billed as a wine festival.

User

As it was first time at the London wine festival london 2017 I expected it to be like the limassol wine festival

but nothing in comparison to the limassol one has a lot more choice

Of food and drink I mainly went to the London festival for the Yiannis Ploutarchos live his show was fantastic shame about the supporting acts but overall had a good time

User

It's not exactly a 'wine festival' with one stall of wine?? I think this is a massive problem as we spoke to a few people who cane from far looking forward to trying out lots of Cypriot wines. We also thought it was a missed opportunity to really sell Cypriot brands, half the things on sale there had nothing at all to do with Cyprus...You paid to have Anna Vissi perform which is great, but why not pay for the flights of some small businesses in Cyprus so they could fly over and sell things like Lefkara lace, jewellery etc. Missed opportunity I feel. Best thing was the souvlakia and Vissi, but it could be SO much more. I doubt next year we will go...

User

If you're going to promote a wine festival... get some sommeliers and independent Cypriot wine makers showcasing what they have to offer. This is just a place where people can drink Keo and buy Sky TV - not exactly a day to remember.

Having said that, they never disappoint with the food.

Modernise your event guys... it's not the 90s... people want experiences and will pay more to get them.
