We were in a nice Sunday afternoon stroll around St Albans and decided to give Côte a try. I liked my one previous experience at Hays Galleria in London.

Anyway, warm welcome from the staff. We had a nice table for 3 in the lovely open air courtyard at the back. It has a nice feel with a mix of tree shade and sunlight.

There were three menues to choose from. After ordering drinks and olives we had some starters if Moules, garlic leaf bread and prawns gratinee. We shared and enjoyed all three and the moules were particularly sweet and tender.

We followed with sirloin and also rib eye steak frites. All perfectly char grilled, with a side of green salad that had a terrific dressing. More drinks and ten one irresistible chocolate mouse which was declared unbelievably good by my wife and teenage daughter - both big fans of fine chocolate deserts.

Topped of with a couple of espressos, this was a really lovely, unhurried Sunday lunch with a great team of staff.

We will definitely be going back soon!

Great job Côte🤗🥂

Visited a few nights back for dinner with 7 adults. Excellent service with polite well mannered staff, who were very attentive without being pushy. Their knowledge of the menu and ingredients was great as we had a few allergies amongst the group. Food was really nice, good choice of options, everything was prepared perfectly! Spacious and relaxed atmosphere too. Will certainly be going back.

User

The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The staff at Côte helped me to ask my friends to be my bridesmaids by bringing over their gifts once we'd all arrived. They were so friendly, attentive and accommodating. Thank you!

User

Lovely meal and friendly staff. Definitely will come back.

Recommend the fish stew. My Sister absolutely loved it.

Happy New Year to all the staff

I have been visiting St Albans Cote for several years, when on cat sitting duties. Enjoyable up until May 2017. The atmosphere was not good, the staff were discussing a staffing matter in front of customers and the food was disappointing. I decided to give it another try when I was back last week. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was very good, and it was more like the Cote I remember from earlier years. I went back three times! My only complaints, my favourite table in the nook by the main door had been turned round, and on the Saturday, the bill took an age to come after we had requested it. I recommend the Tuna Nicoise salad, but if you have a big appetite, you might want to have a side order of frites!

User

Fab food and service. Great menu!! Lots of great dishes to choose from.

They "overheard" is talking and that we were there to celebrate our friends wedding anniversary, and all of a sudden 4 Kir Royales champagnes were brought to the table, complementary. Those little gestures help make a place memorable and a good start for the night.

User

Excellent food, lovely surroundings and a wonderful service. Thank you

User

Came here this evening as staying in St Albans over night. Can honestly say my starter, main and desert were perfect. The food was so tasty and the service was great. 5 stars well deserved

User

Beautiful fresh, good quality and tasty food! Staff were very friendly too. Highly recommend!

User

Went with a friend for late breakfast on Sunday. Good selection on the menu, pleasant waitress, place was quite busy. My breakfast was tasty but it arrived lukewarm and fried eggs were undercooked. French toast was good. Service was a bit hit and miss, and staff behind the bar were swearing in Polish which I found unacceptable. The bill came up to £32 for both of us. Overall it was ok but there are few better places to have breakfast in St Albans.

User

Went there on a Saturday evening with my partner and parents.

All starters and main courses were very tasty, good value, in a relaxing environment.

I'd definitely return.

User

Usually go to Cote in Islington Green, But in the area thought we would give it a try, I had the mussels to start with very good, my daughter had the spicy prawns which were delicious my friend had another prawn dish all excellent, my main course was half roast chicken, it was not that tasty French beans were hard, potato dish ok, my daughter had the same and my friend had the duck which she said was very tasty, wine was lovely and we asked for a second bottle desserts all nice chocolate mousse , vanilla ice cream with warm dark chocolate sauce, and crepes, service excellent

User

Me and my partner nipped in for lunch on Saturday the service was good the food was very nice the creme Caramel was the best I've ever tasted a very enjoyable experience

User

Excellent customer service - steak not cooked as requested, bit of a wait for the correctly cooked piece-friend had finished hers. Asked for the bill and did not even have to mention it as they had already deducted the steak and dessert. Food was good though 😛

User

Awesome food and fabulous atmosphere can’t describe it enough. Had great time

User

Booked for a mid afternoon Mother's Day lunch. Food tasted good ... service not amazing .... not once asked if everything was ok or if wanted more drinks so just made use of their complimentary water. Somewhere I had been wanting to go for a long time but I don't think I would rush back

User

Food good, drinks normal, head waitress fantastic.... ...... but two out of 4 air conditioners were working even the front and back were open, which then made everybody uncomfortable which made the food and drinks leave a bad taste in our mouths!! Next visit I'll ask if working, would of left 4*.
