D-Force Dog Training

‘Teaching the equipment is the easy bit’ ... something I say on nearly all of my young dog workshops!
There are just so many layers to foundation and if I had to pick a favourite step in would be ‘relationship and focus’! If we get this bit right the rest of the journey seems to flow with ease and fun!
Here 7 month old ‘Focus’ learns the best things come from his mum when he picks her over distractions ❤️

The ‘c’ word! ..... CRITERIA!
It is so important we keep clear criteria in the ring for all of our trained behaviours. Without doing so the dog looses clarity in his/her job and as a result may be seen to show behaviours many label as ‘naughty’ or ‘pushy’, such as breaking waits, missing contacts or dropping bars.
Remember, our sports dogs are a mirror of our training ... with this in mind I always evaluate my level of performance and consistency instead of blaming the dog!...

Here is a video of a ‘criteria round’ with Geeky. Even though this was an Olympia qualifier (we have not yet qualified) I knew after quick releasing in the champ final the day before I needed to train!
