D20 Board Game Cafe

We’ve visited here a few times as a family and always had a great time. Staff are so helpful recommending games and getting us and playing new ones. The only downside is that time just flies by when we go here, and the day just disappears. Thoroughly recommend a visit or two for some family time and laughs, and the food is good too.

We’ve been a couple of times now. Really good selection of games, and helpful and knowledgeable staff. Well set up, nice food and drink. So pleased to have this so near to home!

We've been meaning to check this out for weeks. Finally got down there at the weekend and loved it! Service could be faster (seemed like they may have been slightly understaffed for a weekend), but the food and drinks were pretty good, the selection of games was great, the decor was fun and the little extra touches made us smile. Prices were not excessive either - we spent around £15 each on a light lunch (shared nachos & chips) with amazing milkshakes, followed by coffees & cakes plus the cover charge. Not bad for an afternoon's entertainment!

We love this place! Always recommending it to chums and feel very lucky to have it in our local town - we just need to go more!!! Currently expecting a baby and need to get DIY done but as soon as she's out - we're taking her! :D

Visited d20 on sat 13/2, Waled in to a warm friendly greeting by the owners and as soon as I sat down was offered a menu, the food choices are great I ordered the Pastrami with mustard and gherkins prepared by Page and it was lovely Top marks to the chef.

There is a huge range of games to choose from including kids games. We sat down with Mario one of the owners and played a game of "lords of Waterdeep" which he was more than happy to explain, the explanation was effortless and made the experience of learning this new game enjoyable. During the game Michelle was always on hand asking if we needed any more refreshments.

The atmosphere in the cafe was nice an friendly with everyone enjoying the games they were playing, I would encourage booking during the weekend as it was busy.

Great to see a place like this doing well.

Our D&D group come in almost every week and we’re always treated fantastically. The staff are great and really know their stuff. The vegetarian menu is really accommodating and we always feel welcome when we come down. Keep up the good work guys!

My son who has aspergers, was struggling where to go for he bday, we came across this little diamond of a place, him and his mates thoroughly enjoyed themselves, food , milkshakes and staff were awesome. ��

More board games than you can shake a stick at, friendly staff and a great atmosphere and, to top it off, the best coffee in Watford.

It's a great café with a huge selection of board games, very friendly staff and good facilities. The food and drink is very nice, especially the milkshakes on offer! I always go when I can! Prices are good too and they have a big selection of games for sale also.

I'm so proud of what these guys are doing and so lucky to have them local to me. Fantastic range of games, beer and food to cater to everyone. Comfy, friendly atmosphere, a really welcoming place that I can't wait to go back to. Best boardgame cafe I've been to!

I wrote a review on what turned out to be the wrong page! Well I can write a new one! I've been a gamer since the age of 10, I worked for a certain gaming company for 12 years so I know what I'm talking about, this place rocks! My wife Melissa has just got into boardgaming and finding this place is a boon! We've been 3 times so far and each time the staff have made us feel welcome and even remember the game we purchased when we last visited! The food is delishous and while on the dearer side worth every penny. Highly recommend this cafe to anyone I know!

I visited D20 this Weekend and really enjoyed my time there. The staff are friendly, the food is good with lots of options and there is a large selection of games to choose from. The place was full most of the day on Sunday, so I would recommend booking in advance if you want to pop down to avoid disappointment.

Have been coming to d20 for a while now, and loved every visit - apologies for the lateness of this review. The selection of games is great, the explanations of games by staff are full and helpful, and the service is stellar. The food is lovely, and reasonably priced. The rates for gameplay are very reasonable too. I can't think of a better place to spend my free time.

First visit today with my son (12) amazing selection of games and the staff were brilliant, great advice on what to play, help setting up and getting started. Can’t wait to go back.

D20 is a table top gamer's dream. You're spoiled for choice in games to play, organised into fun, light strategy, and so on all the way to the heaviest, most mind-taxing games available. The owners are welcoming; they'll help you choose something, and explain it to you. Good variety of food and refreshments to keep you going too. If you want to try it out or get into board/table top games, head to one of their many events to try something out. The open gaming nights are good as well if you want to try getting a group together for a particular game.

Can't believe I haven't done this yet! This place is amazing. Even if you aren't into board gamed this place is great to hang out. Super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Who no doubt will be sick of the sight of me in their shop in no time!

Card games are what July loves, and we've got it all! On Mondays you can play the Pokémon TCG, on Wednesday get stuck into Keyforge and feel the Force with Star Wars Destiny. Over the weekend get together for Magic: the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh casual play and if that's not enough we've got hundreds more card games in our library! All your favourites too, X-Wing, Open Gaming, d20 Plays, Adventurers League and our monthly Magic Show. Finish off the month by wishing the nations favourite wizard a happy birthday at our annual Harry Potter Quiz. Remember to book in advance to guarantee your space and avoid disappointment!
