We always like to share a story with a happy ending...
PC Ian Thrower came across a lost dog on his way to work this morning. Whilst enquiries were made to trace the owner the lovely Staffie was able to sit in on the morning briefing with Team 5 officers.
Through the wonder of social media the owner was quickly located and PC Thrower was able to return her to her grateful owner.

Year 5 Students from The Reddings Primary School completed their Mini Police Scheme today by enjoying a Reward session organised by Mini Police coaches PCSO Will Sweeting, PCSO Sarah Rex and PCSO Charlie Lumm.
The children were able to sit in a police car, turn on the sirens and learn about all the varied equipment that is carried by their local officers.
They were also treated to some input around crime scene management and were able to solve some forensic clues left on thei...r playground.
The 8 week scheme has seen the students learn about road safety, anti social behaviour, water safety and staying safe online. For their Community Project they worked on the anti social issue of littering. They went in to their local community to pick up litter and produced informative posters regarding this problem linked to the vicinity of their school.
Well done to all our new Mini Police graduates from The Reddings. Welcome to the Police Family.

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team joined colleagues from the Prison Service earlier today on a proactive operation to target those visiting HMP The Mount believed to be carrying contraband. The Team were supported by 2 prison dogs.
These operations have been extremely effective in reducing the number of calls to attend the prison which are made to the local police.
They have also seen a reduction in the number of visitors being detained for trying to bring prohibited... items in to the prison. Of the 72 visitors scheduled to attend today, 48 arrived. No contraband was found.
An individual was dealt with for cannabis possession and a further 3 banned from visiting for 3 months.

The Tring History Society took a step back in time yesterday with a private visit to the town's police station, which is the oldest operational station in the county. ๐Ÿšจ
They were hosted by Inspector Andy Wiseman, secretary to the Hertfordshire Police Historical Society, and Tring PC Lazarus Clark. ๐Ÿš“
The group enjoyed a tour of the building - which opened on its High Street site in January 1914 - plus a talk by Inspector Wiseman about the history of policing in Hertfordshire. ...
PC Clark then gave a presentation about modern-day policing in Dacorum, explaining how despite the fact there is no front counter service, the station still houses the local team that patrols the area. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

Farmers and landowners from across the borough met with police and partner agencies to discuss rural crime issues this morning. ๐Ÿšœ
The barn meet event, set up by officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, was hosted at Cottingham Farms off Flaunden Lane, between Bovingdon and Chipperfield. ๐ŸŒพ
Representatives from Hertfordshire Constabularyโ€™s Rural Operational Support Team (ROST), the Force Communications Room (FCR), Crime Reduction and Community Safety, the National Farmersโ€™ U...nion (NFU), Dacorum Borough Council and the RSPCA also attended. โœ…
Our barn meets are very popular events that give rural communities the chance to meet with police and partner agencies face-to-face to discuss the issues which impact them on a daily basis. ๐Ÿ’ฌ
Itโ€™s also an opportunity for partner agencies to learn about new initiatives to tackle not only crime but any rural issue. ๐Ÿ“
Our rural communities are extremely important to us and we understand that they have specific policing needs which are very different to other parts of the county. It was great to see and meet so many people at todayโ€™s event! ๐Ÿ™‚
We will not be complacent and instead will continue to work in close company with our partners to fight crime and protect the communities we serve. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธโ™‚๏ธ

We are forever hearing parents tell their children, "Look, if you don't behave, The Police will take you away" or saying something which puts them in fear of The Police. We want to make it very clear that this is not the case.
We want your children to trust the Police and feel confident in approaching us should they ever need us in an emergency. So, if you see the Police whilst you're out and about, feel free to come and say hello or give us a wave as we pass.
Our local PCSO...'s and PC's have been visiting schools across Dacorum to promote the Mini Police Scheme. The Mini Police Scheme educates students on a number of different topics. This hopefully builds a positive relationship between The Police and students.
Please see some photos below of some of the great Mini Police Schemes we have done at local schools across Dacorum.
