Celebrating the life and work of Tony Snowdon - some great portraits that I've never seen before in retrospectives of his work.

Great to see the work of Martin Parr - certainly one of my photographic heroes - crossing into the mainstream via the first in his series of idents for the BBC.

X2 Pro in the city...

One of my new year's resolutions was to try and take a photograph every day. To this end, I've spent the weekend in the company of the rather lovely Fuji X Pro 2 - replete with knobs, dials and a host of other old-school features. Another road test in London tomorrow, but I'm hoping that I've found a solution to the dilemma of being able to carry a decent camera system around with me all the time without the aid of either a small team of sherpas or a chiropractor.

Always sobering to hear in a community as small as ours, just how many people sacrificed their lives and how many of them came from the same families.

So here's a shot that requires both photographer's and guest's skills to pull off.

Love this guy's work - so simple and yet so clever. Thinking of trying it out with the children this weekend.

It still amazes me how much there is to learn about photographing children. One of the most valuable lessons is "Never put the camera away until you've waived goodbye and are back in the car". A case in point, walking back from a fun autumn shoot at the weekend, I would have missed Jess giving her Dad a lovely cuddle!

A beautiful day to photograph the wedding celebrations of Brian & Alison in the picture-postcard pretty village of Stratton Audley. A strong Celtic feel to the celebrations with some wonderful music and lots of smiles

I thought I'd share an image from photographer Louis Quail's "Before They Were Fallen" exhibition, currently touring around the country. The project pays tribute to the heroism of the soldiers killed in action during the Afghanistan conflict, but the act of remembering is presented from the viewpoint of the bereaved family and loved one through the re-creation of old family photographs. As well as a tribute to their bravery and sacrifice, it again shows the power and significance of the photographic image. More details at www.louisquail.wordpress.com/before-they- were-fallen
