Daisy'S Dogs Description
After completing my Animal Management course at Hadlow College, I gained 4 years experience working for a dog walking company, before setting up Daisy's Dogs.
My responsibilities included:
- At least 2 dog walks a day, including picking up the dogs and dropping them back to their homes.
-Puppy day care, which involved basic training and socialising of young dogs.
- A range of animal feeds
- House /Pet sitting
- Liasing with clients
- Administering medicines when necessary
In the business owners absence I would be responsible for;
- Organising daily rotas
- Distributing wages
- Meeting new clients
- Responding to client queires and requests
I recently visited Thailand to volunteer at The Elephant Nature Park. It was only when I got there that I realised they had 430 rescue dogs at the sanctuary and a mere 6 volunteers. Whilst I was there I groomed the dogs, dewormed the dogs and administered fluids and medicines. I also assisted the vet with taking bloods and cleaning wounds. This experience helped me understand how to handle dogs that were wounded or in distress and allowed me to see a different side to working with animals.
On a personal note, I would say that I am very reliable and well organised. I always do my upmost to ensure that the animals in my care are well looked after and are given lots of attention. Looking after animals is a real passion of mine, which is why starting up my own dog walking business was a natural next step for me.
