Dog walk at dawn.
A frosty festive day!
Got to be the best ever feedback we have had for the barn- from a group of teenagers on a cycling and camping expedition who stayed last night.

Stunning riding (or walking ) literally over the hill!
Beautiful walks from the front door, including ancient burial mounds and old lime stone kilns. @forestofbowland
Riding local ish today. Any guesses where?!?
New vegetarian dish on the menu, inspired by a meal I had in London a few weeks ago. Pumpkin, gnocchi and dolcelatte.
Sally and Fizz getting ready for Halloween🎃🎃🦇🦇
This weekend is aimed at women who want to improve their mountain biking skills and do a fantastic cross country ride, enjoy the company of other female riders and eat some great food in The fabulous Forest of Bowland.
Day one will be a skills improvement day which will include: • Looking ahead and reading the trail • Developing techniques for different types of corners... • Line choice to improve flow • Body position for riding more advanced trail features • Effective use of gears and brakes • Riding roots and rocks with confidence • Front and rear wheel lifts • Technical climbing, step ups • Tackling drop offs • Pumping the bike for better speed and control
Day two will be a lead ride in the Yorkshire dales or Bowland with Liz and 2 other ride leaders to consolidate the skills learned in day one and to enjoy the stunning scenery and varied riding terrain in the area

Great day out yesterday racing at the Hopetech Enduro. We had lots of guests in the barn and the house also taking part! Well done to all the competitors and a big shoutout of thanks to the organisers, marshals, first aiders and trail builders!
Lots of colourful mushrooms in the forest today!
Slow cooked Herdwick lamb, followed by raspberry pavlova. All went down well with our guests this weekend.
Venison Wellington. 1st attempt. Not far off being spot on really! Coming on the menu soon....
Better late than never! Had a power cut all day. Ready for breakfast tomorrow!
Some of the food for my guests this weekend.
You'd be hard pushed to find a more beautiful setting and more welcoming hosts. A group of 14 mountain bikers used the bunkhouse for a skills weekend which was organised by Dominique at Dalehouse Barn and Sandy Boyd of Girl Bike Van. The accommodation was superb and the food delicious, which set us up well for the excellent biking which the area has to offer.
We were only staying 1 night and chose here as everywhere else was booked for the wedding we were attending 15 minutes away in Slaidburn. However, how I wish we had known in advance how fabulous this place is, we would have made a full weekend of it.
If you like walking or cycling, you couldn't find a better place as the scenery surrounding it is second to none. Wonderful in fact.
Whilst there, I discovered Dominique is a renowned pastry chef. Sadly we were only having breakfast but, looking at her evening menu, and judging by our breakfast, I have no doubt the food would be fantastic too.
Our en suite bedroom was just lovely and the bed was so very comfortable.
We really dropped lucky here and would not hesitate to return.
We were a group of 13 friends booked in the camping barn over Easter via Air BnB.
Excellent communication throughout the process.
Great facilities. Very useful to have the kitchen and warm showers! Made use of the log burner too.
I stayed at the B&B for 3 nights - very comfortable in a fabulous location, with an excellent menu on offer. I would happily stay here again, to be able explore the area further. Lots of wildlife and scenic walks on the doorstep.
Awesome. Lovely people. Great place. Great food!!! Will be back!
