A pleasure to join other guests at Alton School last week for a career 'show and tell' and to hear from some of the students about their ambitions and plans for the future.
Consultation on East Hampshire District Council's Local Plan starts tomorrow and will be open until the 19th March. More information and details on how to take part are available via the link below:

Amazing who you bump into at Bohunt School politics dept these days...
Great to join students from Bohunt School, Bedales School and Churcher's College at a 'Question Time' style event this afternoon, with some first rate questions and discussion from the floor.
Thank you to Holme C of E Primary School for inviting me to visit them last week, and thank you to Head Boy and Girl, John and Scarlett, for the tour and to all the Year 6 pupils for the lively Q&A.
Good to catch up this morning with East Hampshire District Council Cllr Ferris Cowper and Regeneration Manager Pennie Brown, on the great progress underway in Whitehill & Bordon.
The Relief Road is open, build on the new secondary school is on track for opening in Sept, work has begun on the new Leisure Centre, 400 new homes have been built, planning applications are in for the multi-million pound town centre and Health Hub development, the £4 million investment is in place to create the Green Loop around the town, and over a £1 million is being spent on the 'green spec' retrofit programme of existing homes.
Add to this an increase in students at the Future Skills Centre, and a wide range of companies now operating from the BASE Innovation Centre, and the speed and scale of development is incredibly impressive.
Holocaust Memorial Day is coming up this Sunday, marking the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
It's so important that we honour those lost during the Holocaust and pay tribute to the work done by survivors and the Holocaust Educational Trust in ensuring we remember, and learn from, the horrors endured by unimaginable numbers of our fellow men and women. Holocaust Memorial Day Trust
Do you know any veterans who were at the D-Day landings or in Normandy who would be interested in attending this one-off trip? This will be part of the commemorations to mark the 75th anniversary of The D-Day Landings coming up on the 6th June.

Thank you to Cllr Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council and Radian Community for welcoming me today to the outstanding new supported housing at Quebec, Bordon.
Also good to hear that Radian’s nearby Cafe 1759 is going from strength to strength.
Learning first aid and techniques like CPR can give young people the confidence to step in to help someone – and that could potentially save a life. Thanks to Senior Cardiac Nurse, Philippa Hobson @TheBHF for showing me how.

Thank you to every teacher, social worker, governor, trustee, lecturer, trainer, head, foster carer, reading volunteer, dinner server & support staffer who dedicate themselves to helping others reach their potential. Your incredible work has enhanced countless lives again in 2018.
My New Year’s #resolution: to put my phone away. Screen limits for the children are the relatively easy bit... I am guilty as charged when it comes to spending too much time on it myself. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/…/limiting- screen-time-crucial…/
Good to be at Selborne Common this morning to talk about #MyActivityPassport. It's a suggested list of experiences and activities for each year of primary (in & out of school). Many schools have creative ways to encourage widening children's experiences - this adaptable resource is based on one primary school's approach. Thanks to all who have helped develop it. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/ …/Schools_Enrichme…
