Dane Court Grammar School is a coeducational grammar school with academy status in Broadstairs, Kent, UK with approximately 1, 200 pupils. HistoryThe school was officially founded in 1957 and was, until 1980, designated as a selective Technical High School rather than a Grammar School. It celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2007 and in July 2010 expressed an interest in converting to an academy. It has this year celebrated its sixtieth anniversary. The school officially became an academy on 1 April 2011. In 2010 much of the school was rebuilt into a single building, through a £20 million building programme as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative. A new building replaced the former "central block", and was opened January 2010. The next stage was complete refurbishment of the East Wing, completed and joined to the central area in October 2010. The final stage was to be the demolition of the West Wing to make way for improved parking and bus access, which was completed in June 2011 where the school held an official School Opening Ceremony where local officials and former students could attend and tour the school. In 2017, the school celebrated its 60th anniversary. Former students were invited to tour the school and a small fair was held in the school field. DescriptionThe current Executive Headteacher is Paul Luxmoore, while the Headteacher is Andrew Fowler.
