What a fantastic venue for a wedding. It was such a beautiful event , everyone had such a wonderful time.

The best wedding I could of wished for for my son and my new daughter in law.

The staff worked so hard to make everything run so smoothly so thank you to them all of you were great. The room was fantastic, food was fabulous. I'd recommend anyone to stay there. Thanks again.

We went for afternoon tea and it was lovely! The staff are discrete but very accommodating at the same time. Nothing is too much to ask for. Had a lovely walk around the gardens which were being prepared for the summer plants and I look forward to returning to see them all in bloom! Definitely worth a visit!!

This is the first time I have been to this lovely hotel. As usual, the whole experience was excellent. Smiling, attentive staff, wonderful food, beautiful gardens. I can’t wait to go back.

This is the best place I have ever been for a spa. It was a beautiful place. The staff excellent nothing to much trouble. The experience of the whole day was excellent from start to finish. The treatments we had were excellent and you could tell that the staff were very professional they knew what they were doing and were very skilled. I just loved it. Sophie explained my whole treatment and would recommend her to anyone she was lovely and very professional she was very skilled. The treatments made me feel so relaxed. The day was beautiful. Thank you Danesfield house for making my day special. Xxx

This hotel is just amazing. I have stayed here in August for the last 3 years and have had a fabulous time always. The staff are totally welcoming, helpful and professional. I have had divine dinners with every stay. If you want a bit of R&R then the Danesfield is the place to go. Hope to be back again next year.

Service was incredible here and staff were more than accomodating. We were luckily enough to stay in one of the rooms in the stables and it was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bathtub was an old-fashioned one which could easily fit two people, and all the lights and controls were electric. Lights could be dimmed and also changed to the colour of your choice

The four poster bed was so comfortable to sleep in and the room had everything you needed in it.

The food was another highlight! The afternoon tea was out of this world and the mini desserts were to die for! The breakfast was also amazing. Bar staff were friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the spa but if we are lucky enough to go again will definately be using it!

Me and my husband have stayed so many times and i love that place more then anywhere. I have never had a problem with the staff or the rooms that we have stayed in. Staff have always been there to help. I would stay everyday if I could. The spa was amazing. The lady that did my treatment was so lovely and i am going to go out of my way to bye gifts for them as I know from being in the beauty industry it is not easy work. Thank you Danesfield house for yet another lovely and enjoyable stay. We will be back soon and i cant wait. X

I was at Danesfield for Sunday lunch to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was a small family gathering including 3 young children. I had arranged a drinks reception on the Terrace & lunch in the Hambleden Room. All went very well from the initial discussions with the event manager through to the end of the afternoon. Staff were welcoming, responsive & courteous. The food & wine were very good. Peter, our waiter, was particularly helpful & responsive to the children. They liked their hats, squeakers & drawing materials. I've been to Danesfield on other occasions & would recommend it for the quality of its staff, menu and setting. The gardens are a particular feature and a delight to explore. We were there on a very hot day. The terrace is in full sun & there were many other guests enjoying the views. A few more sun umbrellas are needed to meet the demand. The Hambleden Room was perfect for lunch. Thank you for a brilliant afternoon. All my guests were happy. I will be delighted to return on another occasion.

Had a "Celebration Lunch" with close family and friends. The Chiltern Room was a lovely room for all of us to be in with access to a terrace and views over the Thames.

The staff, and a special mention must go to Callum and Mark, for making our day so special and without a single issue. We spent the night in a spectacular River Suite which was the perfect end to the day. I will be going back again.....soon!

We went to the Danesfield for afternoon tea for a special occasion. Tea is served in The Orangery which at this time of year is not a suitable room as many people had to sit in their coats to stay warm. Tea with a glass of champagne is £50 per head and whilst it was all nicely presented on a 3 tier cake stand, it was not the best tea I have ever had given the price. The scones were fresh but the other cakes were rather boring and I wonder if they had been bought in, particularly the mince pies in foil cases. Overall not an experience I would wish to repeat, although I will say going to the Danesfield is always a classy experience.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Danesfield last month (November 2017).

During the day we had treatments in the spa, made use of the pool and enjoyed a light lunch. The only thing I would say that made us feel a little uncomfortable was that although there were only 5 people on loungers around the pool, virtually all of the loungers had towels on them. There were a couple of loungers free so we dragged them into an area where we could sit together. (Quite a noisy event, and faintly embarrassing in swimwear). Perhaps a rule about clearing your belongings from the loungers when having treatments would be beneficial.

Our room was delightful and dinner was delicious. We sampled cocktails and wines, all of which were divine.

On arrival at the restaurant there was no one to meet us and show us to our table, which again felt a little awkward. After a few minutes we went in search of a staff member to assist us. Once we found the receptionist, she soon had us seated by waiting staff, and everything else was great.

Breakfast the next morning had the same seating issue, but we knew the drill by then, and breakfast was definitely worth waiting for.

We've been to Danesfield many times, and will most assuredly visit again. Lovely unique, slightly quirky place.

Hotel is housed in a most stunning turn of the 20C, neo Tudor/Gothic style building, clad with wood panelling and lovely public spaces with huge fireplaces which would be lovely once the colder weather arrives! The staff are superb and very helpful, welcoming and accommodating! Even upgrading us to a river view room as our room was over a dog friendly room which I wasn’t happy about. They didn’t hesitate to move us.

My only gripe are the food and drink prices..... absolutely extortionate and plus 15% service charge on top!! (IMO)!

£15 for a glass of Chianti +15% service??? This, only encouraging us to go elsewhere (Marlow) to drink! Reduce your prices to a more sensible amount and we’d have stayed in and patronised your bars and restaurant!

User

My daughter had got this as a mother’s day gift ,and booked us in a half day with a treatment at 11 o’clock but danefield got the times wrong and had our treatment in for 10 o’clock which was not what we wanted so it did spoil the morning as were booked in for lunch at 12-30 at bit of a mess but made the best out it .

User

Afternoon tea was great. Service excellent. Shame the view was spoilt by the position of a cocktail bar right in front of us. Also another umbrella would have been good as we were in full sun and needed more shade. Overall excellent.

User

Really overpriced for the kind of service you receive. Definitely not what I expected when you pay nearly £500 pounds for a night.

I was promised that the hotel car will be send to pick up my parter at Harley.... the member of staff pointed out what an awsome BMW it was bla bla bla so very excited I told my partner that he will get a ride in style from the station.... at the time he arrived was told that some manager have taken the car but they will send a complimentary taxi... they did send a taxi... to Marlow!!! no Henley ... My partner was waiting nearly 20 minutes when I asked again at reception and they realised their mistake.... finally they send another taxi, at arrival the tax driver asked for his payment as the hotel never informed him it was complimentary ...so much for a stylish pick up!!!! I should have just let him take a cab!!

Worse part is that instead of apologising, the member of reception actually msde a great effort to imgnore me...mistakes can happen but then you try to make it right, not just pretend that is all fine.

Dinner was average... nothing exceptional about the menu service at the restaurant ok... young boys a bit distracted and we had to make and effort to have visual contact with any of the waitress as they just didn't look at the table when passing by and we wanted our wine!

Rooms are clean and pretty ...toilets a bit small ...again just standard no much personality in the rooms ...breakfast I would say very basic for a place that pretend to be so 'exclusive'. The spa is beautiful and well maintained.

Our bill was huge and I'm still wondering about some charges but it was an special ocasion and we wanted all to be perfect so I wasn't in the mood to make a fuss at the reception and I just paid... overall a place that doesn't meet the expectation or service for a five start and just plays with the fact that are in the middle of nowhere and the grounds, landscape and building are beautiful...

Dear managers, luxury experiences are much more about the service that the customer perceive and personal touch that about the place deco. Disappointing.
