Local born artist Daniel Laurence Matthews studied sculpture and furniture making at the University of Brighton before establishing his open-studio, tucked away in the famous "Artists Quarter" of Brighton's historic Kings Road Arches, where he continues to develop his fresh, imaginative style with it's distinctive sense of peace and relaxation. Located on the beach, he is aptly inspired by the ever changing vista of sea and sky, and marine life is a favoured theme in depicting Gods beautiful creation. This is evident from the visual feasts that are displayed around the gallery, in the form of an amazing reef aquarium, full of brightly coloured fish and coral, and a cascading tropical rock-pool water feature.
