Darent Valley Path

The Daren't Valley Path is 19 miles long, and start or finishes, depending on your direction of travel, at the river Thames. Running along the river Daren't, there are some beautiful views as the route winds its way through a number of very scenic areas of natural beauty. Well worth doing if you have the time, or at least in part. The route is very well signposted and even when it does go through a large town like Dartford, the directions continue, this time on the floor in the form of brass coloured signs built into the pavement.

We walked from Otford to Eynsford, stopping for lunch in Shoreham, with a few detours here and there. An easy walk on unsealed paths, with gorgeous scenery. Despite the previous night's rain, and some drizzle during the walk, the path was only muddy in a few places. The route was very well signposted - I was using an OS map, but probably wouldn't bring it next time. There are worse ways to spend a few hours! My tip: Look out for golf balls when crossing the golf course near Shoreham.
