A very sad day today as my oldest horse Callum passed away last night after struggling with colic. He was 27 years old and I had owned him for 23 of those years. Which is half my life. He was my 2nd horse and we have had many years of fantastic riding together. He will be greatly missed. He even safely carried my petrified mum to my wedding in 2003. He was semi retired at jays farm with my fist pony cheeky who he has been with all his life so thank you to Becky, Richard and Claire for looking after him so well to his end. Such a gentle character. This is the last picture of him taken yesterday. RIP my beautiful boy a piece of my heart has gone with you. 😭💕

Due to the continued threat of equine flu, I am asking that all visitors to the yard must NOT have had contact with any other horses prior to visiting us. Please change your clothes and disinfect boots before visiting us. Equine flu will survive on your clothing for two days and can spread very easily from humans to horses and then infect my whole herd. I want to stay open so I'm relying on you to be very careful as to not spread the virus. I may close the yard if there are any further confirmed cases nearby. Thank you Gina.

We brought our little girl over today for the 2nd time staff and ponies were amazing. Our daughter can't wait to come again

The most peaceful relaxing and enjoyable yard I have EVER been too. There is no hurry hurry, no rushing about. All staff are so friendly, approachable and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Darky Dale Forest Stables cannot be recommended highly enough. Taking the time to teach small children how to ENJOY ponies and all that entails, is very rare but you will find that and more here. The facilities are excellent too, everything you could need is cleverly arranged. There is also none of the 'posh horsey' stuff here; it is, all in all, the perfect horse and pony riding establishment to experience horse riding as it SHOULD be ........ FUN !!!

Over 1 year ago I came to the stables and since then I have loved it. Lots of very kind people there and lovely horses. I love the amazing hacks and lessons.

Our little girl has just received from Father Christmas a part share in a horse at the stables. She is so very excited and can't believe how lucky she is. Gina and all the staff are just amazing, so professional, relaxed, caring atmosphere, calm and gentle ponies and above all everyone having so much fun. We have also attended some of the special events and we can highly recommend them, as so much effort put into them and all for the kids ��� most definitely 5 stars all the way !!

My daughter so loves it here. She was going to another local riding stables for 18months but not getting anywhere or learning new things. one lesson here and she was so happy il never forget the look on her face when she came back. The staff are all friendly and so helpful. Holly loves coming so glad i have found this place and in lovely surroundings.

My daughter has been coming to Darky Dale for 4 ish years now she loves it, has learnt so much doing a pony share instead of the normal hour lessons that other stables seem to lean towards, staff are so friendly.

I'd been meaning to come riding here for a while and wish I'd come sooner. Such a treat riding straight into the forestry with no roadwork. Lovely ponies and everyone's so welcoming and friendly. I'm even considering a pony share so looking forward to trying another pony next week.

Highly recommended. Welcoming relaxed and friendly. Forward going and very well behaved horses. Lovely long trots, loads of fast canters, chilled walking through beautiful woods across open field quiet country lanes. Welcome stop at Whitehorse Inn tour of Clun and Clun museum (thanks Ash). Stop off at Hopton castle. Cooling off in the stream.

Had a recent visit to Darky Dale Riding School, thoroughly enjoyed my time out hacking, the horses are certainly well looked after. Felt very comfortable and happy being a novice rider. The countryside and views were outstanding. Looking forward to coming back!! Loved it!! Thanks Gina x

Excellent in every way. Friendly, relaxed, professional staff and lovely calm horses. Riding at darky dales is just phenomenal. Loads of bridlepaths, no roads to worry about. It is just blizz. Wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been searching for a place like this for ages. If you want a fun day with calm and save horses, relaxed atmosphere, very helpful and lovely staff and long rides through the lovely Shropshire woods and fields- this is the place. Darky dale is definitely my favourite stables. They have got horses for all abilities. The staff there have helped me gain my confidence around horse and in the saddle and have not pushed me to do anything. Have been going there for just over 4 years now and will continue going to darky dale as much as possible. Also the manager there is very kind and welcoming.

Dark dale bought one of our horses and we couldn't ask for a better home. Missy is missed however the staff take great care of their animals so she is at a great home.

Amazing time, we arranged a birthday treat of riding with party games with the pony's. So much fun!!! And just loved the little touch of princess bows and ribbons in the pony's manes
