About Dartford Fc Youth Academy

An academy for talented footballers who want to learn and play for our first team in the future.

Dartford Fc Youth Academy Description

The pre-academy at Dartford FC forms part of our player pathway to first team football at the club. We aim to create a learning environment where talented young players, many of whom have been at professional clubs, can continue to progress. Whilst winning is important, our emphasis focuses on the way we play. Therefore, developing players who have tactical as well as technical skill is delivered throughout the years through a well-balanced learning syllabus.

Our squads start at u8 (school year 3) and at u16s (school year 11), trial for our full academy if they have achieved the standards required. At an appropriate point, players are signed exclusively to the pre-academy squads, until then they can play for their local club teams.

The squads play in the Elite Development Programme (EDP) against professional and semi-professional advanced player centres. They also play against professional club academy squads.

The pre-academy is financially supported through a parental contributory model, manage by the Dartford FC Youth Development Centre Community Interest Company. The Foundation phase squads pay Β£25 and the Development phase squads pay Β£45 per month. The payments pay for everything except for playing kit and accessories.

Foundation squad players are expected to be coached for 1. 5 hours per week and the Youth Development phase players for 3 hours per week. They are coached by minimum FA Level 2, YCA Module 2 coaches, or coaches who are working towards that minimum standard. Our lead Youth Development Phase coaching staff are qualified to FA Level 3.

Our Boys u16s have completed a fantastic season by winning the JPL League Winners play off Final in style yesterday, at Oxford City's ground
DARTFORD FC 7 Halesowen Town 2
... Congratulations lads, you've completed a historic QUADRUPLE:πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†
Junior Premier League Cup
JPL National League winners
Costa Daurada Cup, Barcelona
JPL League Playoff Winners
What a fantastic set of players!! Well done to you all and to Darren Corley, your coach (and all who have assisted him!)
This squad, many of whom have represented DFC for years, have been an absolute credit to the club for the entire season - and ever since they joined the Academy.
Hard work, sheer determination and natural talent have been rewarded with a successful season, which they fully deserve. When a squad turns up for training sessions and put in the same effort as required on match days, you know that this group have something special about them. Injured players turn up to watch training and matches - all wanting to be involved. Lads, you have cemented DFC's place in the JPL history books and it has been an absolute pleasure to have had you as players at the Academy.
Everyone connected at DFC, especially all the coaching staff who have guided you through the many seasons you've represented the club, THANK YOU for your commitment and wish you every SUCCESS for your future, both as footballers and as young men, and here's hoping that many of you will be in the 1st team squad in the coming years.
A big THANK YOU also to your family and friends who have supported you and the club, travelling thousands of miles to do so. We wish them all the best for the future also, and hope that we continue to see them at Princes Park, where they'll always be welcome.
Good Luck and Thanks once again as you leave the Pre-Academy as QUADRUPLE cup winners ……………..

End of Boys and Girls Development Phase for Season 2018-2019
Last night, Thursday 6th June, was the final training session for our Development squads, with the current u11s and 12s having finished the previous evening and our Girls squads on Monday 3rd June.
Our u16s Boys have their last game for the club on Saturday 8th June, as previously posted, in another final (GOOD LUCK LADS!!) and we will mention this squad after the game!
... Please see the video of a Guard of Honour for the u16s from all in attendance, at the end of training last night - fully deserved!!!
For all squads, it seems a long time ago since we had pre-season games in July & August and so much football has been played. We have had much success on the field of play, with Girls and Boys teams playing some excellent football, silverware being won along the way, which is a marvellous bonus, but the most important aspect is seeing all individual players develop their skills and understanding of the game - that is what the Dartford FC Pre-Academy is all about.
That many of our boys are now in the DFC 1st Team squad, some are now at Football League clubs, plus the new Dartford Ladies having a successful season inspiring our Girls teams, we believe demonstrates that we are continuing to move in the right direction.
It is just left to say a BIG THANK YOU to a great group of players who have represented DFC & to their family and friends who have supported them all season. Plus a thank you to all the coaching staff and the numerous persons who work tirelessly behind the scenes...….
Enjoy your 6 week break 😎 and we return for Pre-Season training week commencing Monday 29th JULY
Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming our new players who officially join their squads in July.
