Saturday 28th July Wines from the Rhone Valley. Five course dinner with wine. Please phone 01364 652232 to reserve a table. Our wine nights are informal, pleasant evenings where we enjoy good food and good wine and good company with the excellent tuition of April from Regency Wines

lovely food, love the carvery. It was very busy yesterday (Sunday) there were a couple of coach loads in before we went. The food was really nice, a good choice of meats and lot's of vegetables, food was also nice and hot. Service was fine. Our table and the floor area underneath could have been cleaner but appreciate they had been very busy but would like to sit down to a clean table, but this is the only fault we had, everything else was fine, as usual.

Well what can i say. You certainly pulled out all the stops for the amazing New Years Eve Dinner. Cannot fault a thing. Decorations, ambience, staff, food,all top grade. Thank you all for a memorable evening xxx

Well beyond expectations, food, atmosphere, best wedding day ever and the team are simply the best ever. We will be back regularly for the fantastic food & atmosphere.

We had our wedding reception at Dartmoor Lodge after our church service on the 30th June and were blown away by how well everything went! We didn't look at any other venues after our 1st meeting with Di - such a relaxed process from start to finish, helping us with all the little details that made it so perfect for us. Nothing was too much trouble and even on the day, everything ran so smoothly. We had incredible weather and our guests were greeted in the gardens with a red carpet, pimms and canapes during photos, before sitting down to the most amazing meal. Our mini honeymoon was the perfect end and prolonged that wedding feeling. We both cant thank you enough for making our wedding day so special and we will be back!

We had our wedding here on 14/04/18 and everything was just amazing! 😍 I’m speechless with everyone making our dreams come true, no matter how fussy I was and no matter how many times I changed my mind with anything and everything. They accomadated everything no matter how big or small. The food was to die for, excellent quality and amazing value for money, delicious regardless of what we ordered. Di and Trevor are amazing and we can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for us, please see for yourself you won’t be disappointed, I can promise that 😍 (we’re actually in talks about having our anniversaries here too) every time we walked into the hotel, your always given a family friendly, loving warmth atmosphere and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, beds are very comfy (tried and tested 🤣) our family and friends are amazed at how everything was such a WOW factor, to the finest details. The gorgeous beams in the restaurant gave that country feel. I could go on and on about this hotel, but I’ll be here all year talking about our amazing experience. So to Di, Trevor and all the team at Dartmoor Lodge a mahoosive thank you for everything, we will be returning regularly and we’re really looking forward to seeing you all again very soon, you guys are amazing thank you xxxxxx

We had our wedding at the Dartmoor lodge on 02/06/18.



Dartmoor lodge was the first venue we looked at and Di recommended we view a few to be sure so that we did. After viewing different venues it just made the decision to choose the Dartmoor lodge even easier.



We booked our wedding 2.5 years in advance so we had a long build up. Throughout this time Di checked in just to say hello and we often visited for lunch which never fail to disappoint.



Myself and my husband are both so relaxed and unorganised so having someone has organised as Di was incredible. She really did take care of everything.



Di, Trevor and all the team all went above and beyond to ensure we had the most special day. I can’t thank you enough for all the effort you put into our day. We really had the best day of our lives and that would t of been possible with out you.

We had a wonderful family lunch in a large room with a lovely outside space. The food was wonderful, and the staff were an absolute joy! Would recommend without hesitation

We booked a basic double room, it was clean and comfortable, bit tight for space, the wardrobe was full with an ironing board, spare pillows and an iron, so no room to hang any thing up. Not really a problem as we were only staying 2 days. There was a blisteringly hot towel rail in the bathroom which was very close to the loo, which we came into contact with quite a lot. Plenty of tea, coffee etc, a tv, shower was lovely, room was nice and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant was lovely, food was delicious especially the breakfast. We missed the carvery which looked gorgeous!!! The bar area was not as cosy as we thought it might be, but the range of drinks made up for it. Altogether it was good value for money, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend and stay here again �

We always get a warm welcome and feel at home the minute we drive into the car park. The staff are excellent, as is the accommodation, food and atmosphere. They serve a perfect Shiraz that is a joy. Thank you from both of us. 😁🙂😁

The service and staff friendliness here is amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble and food quality and presentation is superb. Can’t think of a single thing they could improve. Even their coffee is some of the best I’ve ever tasted.

The most amazing and wonderful wedding venue! We had an absolutly fantastic faultless wedding day, Pure perfection and everything we dreamed of, every step of the way Di was there to help, advise and recommend, we fell in love with the dartmoor lodge the moment we met Di, her love and passion for weddings made the decision so easy we looked at no other venues, the staff were so helpful on our wedding day, and attentive nothing was to much trouble, the marquee was everything we wanted the garden was beautiful perfect for the summer day that we had, the hotel accommodated all our guests and beds were so comfy! The food was so yummy! It even won over the most fussiest of eaters, I miss all the planning with Di so much the many emails where I was constantly asking questions being a typical bride Di always emailed back quickly if Di wasn't there someone would always help, the hog roast was fantastic the decorations provided by the dartmoor lodge was perfect! And really can't thank the team enough for being so accommodating, helpful and made our wedding day so perfect!

Stayed for 2 nights due to being snowed in at work, the staff were amazing they really looked after us � they plated food for us early workers so we all had breakfast and the second night they had no electric and they lit the BBQ so we were all fed and again in the morning never had bbq breakfast before and it was yummy!! They stayed up all night to do 15 minutes inspection for fire and still in the morning bent over backwards to make sure we were happy � amazing � would definitely recommend �

I rang on a sunday morning to book a table for 17 people for carvery.

Tables were arranged for us and the service was excellent.

Having been to alot of venues for a carvery, this one has to be the best i have had. Everyone else with us that had carvery agreed with me.

Will be back very soon , cant wait to try out the rest of their meals.

Amazing Wedding Venue, superb service received the 2 days we stayed there, nothing is too much trouble, Trevor and Diane are very hands on, which make the whole process feel more special. Highly recommended for a weekend away on Dartmoor, or a Wedding Venue. As my cousin from Portsmouth said ‘it’s worth coming down for the carvery alone’. I can see why you reach the finals of the Wedding awards, hopefully you will win this year as you all thoroughly deserve it xxx

Absolutely brilliant di and the team couldn't do enough for you they where there every step of the way and made our dream wedding come true they made you feel so welcome for our wedding we had Saturday the 19th of august we can not thank you enough for what you have all done to make it such a perfect day.im not just saying this because this is where we had our wedding but I have never seen another venue like it they are in my eyes the best we won't be strangers we will be in regularly we love your roasts thank you so much you lovely people xxxxxx

Popped in on the off chance they’d be able to fit us in on a busy Sunday. The lady that greeted us was fab and found us a table in the bar. Because it was busy we were expecting a wait at the bar and a queue at the carvery though we didn’t need to worry, as the service was prompt, efficient and professional. The chap on the carvery (maybe the owner?) was great too, a very warm welcome, and made us feel that he valued his guests custom.

The food was delicious and the ample staff (who all kept themselves busy!) were fantastic. Marked it at a 4, purely on the basis that the main bar and restaurant could do with perhaps a little bit of a makeover. I’m sure this is in their plans eventually as I know they’ve been gradually refurbishing. We will deffo return!

A really quick visit to Ashburton for a night. Dartmoor Lodge Hotel was a very convenient lodging for us. A wonderfully friendly bunch of staff here, so attentive and pre-emptive. A very delicious Carvery meal with succulent roast beef and pork. The crackling was almost jaw-breaking! The breakfast was generous with a Full English or simple poached eggs. The cleanliness was just 10/10. Our ground floor room was quite noisy because of the upper floor occupants through the night which did not bode well for a busy day.
