English Heritage looks after 66 castles - more than any other organisation in the UK. These fortresses have stood proud for centuries, keeping mighty armies at bay, but now many of them are at risk. As a charity, we need your help to preserve our castles - and their stories, for generations to come. Find out more and donate today: http://bit.ly/LoveCastlesDonate

If you’re heading to the coast this summer, make sure to bring your bucket and spade! English Heritage has just launched a country-wide competition to build a sandcastle, in celebration of the 66 castles in its care.
Find out how to enter the competition, or get some inspiration from the sandcastle experts! The charity has just created this magnificent sandy stronghold at Dover Castle — using real castle building techniques: http://bit.ly/lovecastles

A new English Heritage survey has revealed that children's earliest memories of castles are more likely to have come from fantasy, film and fiction, instead of a real-life visit. Time to reverse the trend! http://bit.ly/2KT7IYT

Wonderful experience would highly recommend lots to see and do in and around the castle. Free parking means you can take a walk or a ferry to the whole area once you are finished in the castle.

Lovely location, great service, excellent quality food, good choice of menu (would like to see more meat perhaps), generous quantities too. Fresh, well presented, quality food all round. Highly recommend!

Difficult road access to get to the car park but the castle is amazing, the view on the seafront is beautiful. From the castle you can take a mini boat to go to Dartmouth and do many things. For instance, boat trip on the river.
