Great gym and pools, friendly and helpful staff. Family friendly environment, activities, great food. They have certainly upped their game. This is the 3rd time I have rejoined and have to mention the gym trainers are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and thorough when putting together/reviewing training programmes etc.
Thanks to Matt for a great fun and informative initial session!

Have been regularly taking 3 times the amount they should. Have contacted the centre twice, they agreed that the DD was incorrect and said that "Kay" would call me back. I have not had any call back and had to resort to an indemnity claim to get my money back. Absolutely awful customer service, a real shame. Watch your DD very carefully!!!

Ive been a member for 3 months using the gym i cannot find fault staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble the whole place is full of smiling people it makes me feel good just being here i highly recommend it well worth what i pay.

The class instructors are excellent and the restaurant staff are very helpful. However the management are ridiculous and inflexible. It's an unfriendly club where quite often you walk in to a class and say hello and nobody responds. It's quite a snobby club and other members can be very stuck up. After a year you have to give 3 months notice to cancel so be warned. Even if you move away to uni. Unless there is not a DL within 10 miles and then they will let you off with a months notice. But they won't believe you unless you prove it!

The gym staff are friendly and helpful. There is a wide selection of apparatus to train with and a good selection of classes. The decreasing floor space, lost to additional apparatus has cramped the areas for free exercise which is a pain.

I've been a member since September 2016, from entry on day one I've have felt welcomed... I did the Your weight change with Tom, one of the PTs here at David Lloyd, and a few weeks ago he asked me to think of 6 people that help make up my support group... I instantly said "Done!!!" Baffled he asked me to explain, I said to him "My support group is here!!! Yes friends say well done and my family do too but most of my support come from the staff and other members here at David Lloyd!!! It was in January when Natalija went out of her way to approach me and ask if I was reaching my goals and gave me advice, from there I starting making friends with some of the members and the staff too who all continue to pick me up if I get knocked down and help me reach higher than I have before, whether it's in a PT session with Kendall or even in one of her classes, or whether I'm laying on the floor "dying " in GRIT with Siobhan, the little push is all you need and the support along my journey has been insane!!!" Since joining I've continued to lose fat and gained muscle, I've found a love for something, a love I never knew I'd find, I'm now following that love and am literally two weeks away from my final assessment as a level 2 PT, seeing the team here and how much people change and how they feel when they achieve their goals is what has made me follow a career in fitness, it's all because of this environment!!! Here's to the Future, here's to fitness and here's to David Lloyd in Ipswich, I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

Generally David Lloyd Ipswich is good, however recently it has become very difficult or impossible to park on a Saturday even at 0930 in the morning. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency as members will look elsewhere for classes especially as a new booking policy has been put in place ( how can you penalise no shows if members can't park in the car park),etc especially those using the children's classes.
Also the restaurant manager seems to have an attitude problem and is unable to use basic pleasantries like please and thankyou( in customer service this is unacceptable).
Finally the family changing area and the men's changing shower/areas are looking very tired and need renovation desperately.
It's not all bad as most of the instructors and class instructors are very good and know their stuff also some of the restaurant staff are very good(despite their manager Louie) special mention to Kat here.

Paying over the odds for a membership and you are not allowed to eat your meal prep around a table (bare in mind) me and my two friends have a competition in 2 months we ordered 3 coffees to go with our meals we bought along and got told to leave. Some people don't buy nothing and read a paper for free. We paid for coffees and still can't eat our food. I have recommended 6 people in 4 months. I will not recommend and as soon as my 1 year contract is up I will be looking for a better and friendly gym. Gavin
