David Raison Fine Art Description
Producing Fine Art in Guildford, Surrey, I generally work in oils, although I'm experimenting with watercolour and coloured pencil, mainly as a sketching aid. Landscapes are generally from my photographs and I interpret what I see in the photo onto the canvas, as it is difficult finding the time to sketch /paint outdoors. Still life is a favourite, as I enjoy the challenge of reproducing the forms, shadows and spaces in the subject.
I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures; please feel free to leave me some feedback (good or bad! ). Clicking on a picture takes you to a larger view, together with a description and pricing information. My art is affordable, original and easy to buy using PayPal.
I'm happy to provide private viewings by appointment; use the Contact page on my website or message me on Facebook.

Here’s a little painting I did for fun, now appropriated for the hallway.
Very useful blog post.

I’ve just received a lovely email from Thierry, who bought my painting of Gruissan.
Progress on my painting of Tenby harbour. Loads still to do. #wip #wales #pembrokeshire
A sale at last! My painting of Gruissan, France has sold to a client in Narbonne, just a few miles from the subject. Payment received, painting dispatched. Result!
While working on my Tenby painting., I’m also working on a small still life that will be a raffle prize for Merrow Village Bowls Club’s annual presentation lunch. I try and provide a painting each year.
Finished! My Corfu ladies are completed at last. Soon available on my website. #corfu #greece
I’m officially mended. After over a year with a gammy right hand, I have been discharged by the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. My hand is not back to full strength, but it’s nearly there. Interestingly, Nature was the remedy. The radial nerve healed itself without any other treatment. Magic!
More of the background and supporting detail painted. #wip #corfu #greece
The third lady takes shape! I’ll soon be working on the background and developing the floor. The end is nigh... #wip #corfu #greece
#wip #corfu #greece Latest progress update. More work on the middle lady but with more to do on her trousers.
#wip #painting #corfu #greece My, this is slow going! More work completed pn faces, hands, and hair. Painting the background should be a doddle. I’ve never had to use brushes in size 0, 00, and 000 before!
