DCA CHILDCARE - What we do

BREAKFAST CLUB
MONDAY - FRIDAY: 8AM - 8: 45AM
This club is offered to all children from 2-11 years old. The children are offered a variety of cereals to choose from for breakfast and during this session they also have access to a wide range of different resources and activities of their choosing. At the end of the session the children are escorted over to the Hernhill C of E school by breakfast club staff.

PRE-SCHOOL
MORNING SESSION: 9AM - 11: 30AM
LUNCH CLUB: 11: 30AM - 12: 30PM
AFTERNOON SESSION: 12: 30PM - 3PM
The Pre-School day is split in sessions and welcomes all children from 2-5 years of age. Government Funding is available for 2 year olds whose parents /guardians meet specific benefits criteria. All 3, 4 and 5 year olds who attend Pre-School will be eligible for 15 hours funding per week to use on sessions. The main aim of the Pre-School is to provide positive social and learning opportunities to meet individual development needs of all children through meaningful play experiences. The setting offers opportunities to explore the environment beyond the setting and further afield in the wider local community through which we have strong links with. All children who attend the setting will be guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which allows for children to grow and follow their individual interests through seven identified areas of learning. Each child is supported with their social and emotional wellbeing through close links with a named keyperson. This keyperson system enables the important exchange of information between the setting and the child's family home to help build a holistic approach to the child's learning journey.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
MONDAY - THURSDAY: 3: 15PM - 5: 30PM
FRIDAY: 3: 15PM - 5PM
The After School Club offers childcare for all children aged 2-11 years old. Staff collect children on a daily basis at 3: 15pm from the neighbouring Hernhill C of E Primary school (through prior request from the children's parents /carers) and walk them the short distance from school back to the DCA Childcare setting.
The Children are offered light refreshments in the form of a toasted sandwich, fruit and a drink. All dietary needs can be accommodated.
Children have access to a wide range of resources and equipment both indoor and out and are encouraged by staff to engage is an age appropriate activity of their choosing. Children in Year R continue to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and will be encouraged by staff to work towards achieving their early year’s goals which will be documented accordingly.
