Went for lunch midweek the building was very clean and warm especially in this cold snap which was good, lovely tasting hot food, didn't wait long, staff very polite and helpful
Well, what can I say? I was lucky enough to win a voucher in a competition for a meal for two. My husband and I ventured over today and found this quaint pub. It is beautifully decorated and feels so welcoming. We were seated to our table and were asked if we would like some bottled water while we perused the menu. We then ordered our meals and drinks. When the food arrived, it was piping hot and plentiful. Honestly, after eating my dinner, I went into a food coma..it was fabulous. The prices are reasonable, but the food is stunning. I highly recommend this pub and will most defiantly be back. Thank you for having us on one of the hottest days of the summer and the day England beat Sweden in the World Cup to go onto the semi finals...what a day
We went today for brunch along with our puppy Dexter who was very playful. Highly recommend everyone was lovely and very friendly. We were truly made to feel welcomed and that our custom was appreciated. The food was great. Will be back soon. Thank you
We attended a joint birthday party on Saturday 18th March 2017, from the moment we arrived we were looked after very well all the staff were polite and very efficient, food was excellent with generous portions and coped well with the 80+ guests.
Spent the afternoon there yesterday. Food was amazing and staff couldn't of done any more to help. Would highly recommend to all my friends and will be returning soon xx
Popped in for breakfast as a treat, lovely atmosphere, great food. Thanks Jess and Ebony
Just had a delightful evening having dinner and drinks in the lovely seating area outside! Couldn't fault the service and food. Think we are lucky having this pub on our doorstep. Will be back.
For the first time ever we decided to venture out for Christmas lunch. Wasn't really sure what to expect to be honest however the three of us would like to say a massive thank you to James and his team. We cannot fault anything from the great service to the fantastic food. Too much to eat to be honest but so lovely. Hope you all manage to get a little relaxation time with your respective families. Thanks once again but you have now given us a tough choice. The stress and mess of cooking at home or the stress and mess free by coming to you again. Mmmmmmm tough choice .............. Not
Food has always been a bit hit and miss here....after visiting on Sunday 19th Nov for a dry run before the official opening after the refurb, I have to say there's a great improvement on the food. Just needs to be maintained. The roast beef was to die for, perfectly cooked, nice and pink and tender. Hubby had a perfectly cooked steak too. All round we were very happy with the food. The pub as a whole is a lot lot better than it used to be, re. paintwork on the outside, atmosphere inside, nice and bright and roomier than before. Well done to the team here, good job!! We'll be visiting more often :D
Best roast dinner in the area! Lovely beef and veg tasted amazing. Roast potatoes were so tasty. Service very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.Good value for money highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.
Always friendly and great food! Went out of their way to change their gravy for my 'gluten free' fussy girlfriend ;) my first choice for weekend lunch every time!
2 years ago I wouldn’t have stepped foot back in here due to unfriendly, uncaring staff, lack of atmosphere etc.
Now after coming back a few times before the refurb I grew more enthused & after the refurb just even better.
The staff are all fantastic, friendly, welcoming, helpful, plus very catering.
Drinks are all we have had currently, my other half has eaten here but I haven’t but can’t wait to try the food. Ebony makes a great mojito! The best I’ve had in England (can’t find anyone in England to make a good one normally but away on holiday they seem to be the best so thank you young lady )
Charlotte makes a cracking old fashioned!
James the manager is very friendly & I can see his staff are which makes the experience even better.
Thank you for our chilled out times with our drinks. Also very nice to have met 2 lovely couples here with 2 different dogs. Nice to meet some new locals here as I’m moving here permanently to the area soon
Very pleasant meal with excellent service by all staff, especially Rhizzi. Very attentive and not intrusive. Only down side was they ran out of Pinot Grigio. Look forward to returning soon (But will give warning so they can order some wine in!!)
First visit yesterday.......good seating area outside. Menu was ok although I thought a little minimal. We had to ask the staff for cutlery and condiments, they weren't offered to us. Pleasant staff it has to be said.
It's a fair pub, not bad, but not great.
Beer tastes like the pipes need a clean and is a bit overpriced. Food is OK.
Don’t waste your time. Service was terribly slow and food was mediocre. Nice enough decor and atmosphere so probably fine for a pint but nothing more.
Used to me a nice pub.. I took my dad and son there today for a quick Sunday lunch and was disappointed of how its lost its atmosphere.
Our food then arrived received and we were quite disappointed about the spoonful of cabbage, and long carrot, and few roast potatoes and 2 good slices of beef, and a Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire pudding!
It then got awkward as the menu shows roast dinner £7.95 and large £10.95, we got charged 3 x £10.95? I questioned politely and the £7.95 is for Senior? (S symbol) I asked him to explain but he couldn't.
Conclusion: My dad is a pensioner, never got asked about the senior discount, the bartender didn't have a clue, I didn't want to cause a scene over money with my dad in background. I will never go there again, more stress than it was worth!
Today I went to your pub for tea and cake with my Mum after being told that you offered gluten free options. When I arrived, the 'gluten free' cake was in on a cake stand with gluten-containing cakes, not only this, but there was one cake slicer for both gluten and gluten free cakes. This cross contamination means that the cakes are not gluten free and had I eaten them I would have been extremely ill. After speaking to other Coeliacs in Fleet it seems that there has also been cross contamination in the kitchen and other people have been made ill as a result. When you advertise something as gluten free it needs to have no cross contamination. It's completely unacceptable to advertise gluten free products when they aren't. I will not be eating here again.
Nice pub but advertises gluten free cake and then puts the cake in with normal cake causing cross contamination meaning people with coeliac disease cannot eat the gluten free cake . Such a shame as we had been looking forward to our tea and cake morning.Ended up with just a cuppa.
