Deaf Direct (Action Deafness)

Since its inception in 1927, Deaf Direct was previously known as Worcestershire and Herefordshire Association for Deaf people and worked within the Midlands region to create a society in which deaf and hard of hearing people could enjoy equal participation and access without barriers or prejudice. Since its merger with Action Deafness in 2019, Deaf Direct brand continues to be a recognised and trusted name providing high quality bespoke services to deaf and hard of hearing people, family members and carers, as well as professionals and other organisations within the catchment areas of Herefordshire, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire. As a deaf-led registered charitable company, Action Deafness is independent of the statutory sector and through Deaf Direct, we will continue to fully advocate for local needs. All our activities are undertaken to further our charitable purposes for the public benefit.
