Providing Services that aim to support, empower and enhance the lives of D /deaf people

Deafness Resource Centre Description

at aim to empower, support and enhance the quality of life of Deaf people.

"St Helens and District Society for Deaf People" was established in St Helens in 1928. In 2009, the charity became a registered, incorporated charity and was renamed Deafness Resource Centre and all aims, objectives and assets were transferred to this 'new' charity.

The organisation is managed by a committee made up of Deaf and hearing people.

Currently, there are approximately 26, 000 people in St Helens with some form of deafness - they could be your friends, family, customers, or visitors.

The Deafness Resource Centre is here to offer services to deaf people, and also to develop other services to help them to become more deaf aware.
