Chris Hale will return with a fantastic four-course dinner on Friday 5th October. Chris was a finalist on the 2016 edition of Masterchef and his previous appearance at the hotel was an amazing success. We had some great feedback from guests and, as a consequence, they've asked us to do more events like this, so here it is. The price is just £45 per person including canapes and Prosecco on arrival.

Went for one night had had a fantastic experience for a much needed break with my partner. Brilliant location and the service was outstanding, didn’t want to come home. Our experience at dean court hotel was so much better than we thought it would be. Highly recommend.

Outstanding!!! Spent one night for my husbands birthday. Amazing location, beautiful food and it was the service that really made the difference, the lovely girls whose names I wish I got arranged lots of lovely little treats to make our stay extra special and were so smiley and attentive, the lady on reception, the lovely dark haired lady in the bar and restaurant and the young girl studying in York all get a huge thank you from us. You made a much needed break away truly memorable and we will definitely be back 😁

Lovely stay, my wife and I had a lovely relaxed stay, great location, valet parking, and nice rooms, what really makes this hotel is its wonderful staff, keep up the good work, look forward to staying again .

Christmas lunch for a party of four. Staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout the three course meal ( followed by coffee and mince pies). Lovely dining room overlooking York Minster. The food was excellent and well presented, will be back in the New Year.

Absolutely stunning place, lovely food and very attentive staff. I booked for afternoon tea for my sisters hen party. There were 14 of us and we were very well looked after. I will definitely return the next time I'm in York!

Absolutely fantastic time was had for surprise birthday gathering the food was fantastic the staff were exceptional , the service was excellent can't praise them enough thank you.

Lovely experience. We were still made a fuss of even though we only had drinks.

Really nice staff but for consistency, it would be a bit nicer if the person who took your order was the one who brought your order.

Immaculately clean and the decor is lovely. Basically a nice relaxing experience for pennies more than going to a regular coffee shop - with a much nicer view!

They may want to rethink the tables and chairs immediately in the entryway as it seems a little cluttered and takes away from the flow of the rest of it.

We go to york 1 to 3 times a year. We have always walked past this hotel and thought, it must be lovely to stay there”. Imagining it to be quaint and have character. We was so disappointed. The reception area looks very 80s and the room looked like it had been furnished at Dunhelm. Pre packed curtains etc. Sure it wasn’t even a double bed. This was booked on late rooms. Room only, £110. But we have stayed in far more quainter places in york like the Lamb & Lion, Guy Fawkes, Churchill’s, Marmadukes for similar price and been far more impressed, including breakfast. Sorry but won’t be rushing back.

Stayed in room 21. BIG MISTAKE. Fan outside window which was very loud all night. Lifts next to the room sound like a fog horn every time they where in use. £184 for room the size of a shoe box. worst night sleep I have ever had! NOT RECOMMENDED

Service incredibly slow for a Sandwich and a Cake. Served drinks after a 15 min wait. Half an hour later we weee still waiting for our food.

Nice decor/etc let down by the poor service.

Worst of all was when the table that came in 30 mins behind us were served their food and we were STILL waiting!

Having booked for a ten day much needed break . We are full time 24/7 , 355 days a year carers.



We booked our usual annual break for the fifth year running in the Dean Court hotel. This hotel is usually a ideal place to help us rest and recharge our batteries



Sadly this year deeply disappointed does not even begin to cover just how bad this years visit was.



On our second night with pipes constantly knocking all night and a very , very lumpy bed., we got no sleep.



However the reception staff were excellent and gave us another room . And although not the upgraded room that was mentioned we were happy with our new room



However with five days of our holiday to go . Scaffolding was erected outside our window. Had we known this we would not have booked this hotel this year. Had I wanted metal bars outside my window. HM prison service would provide this as well as free bed and board.



This scaffolding totally ruined our holiday . I would have to very seriously consider whether or not to ever book this hotel again . They should have informed us prior to leaving home that this would happen . And had they done this we would certainly have cancelled . We booked for ten days but had only four acceptable days .



They should have closed the affected rooms. Or had them at a much reduced rate .For people prepared to suffer a lack of light and put up with a view consisting of metal bars.



And this is just not what I expected from this previously excellent hotel
