Handmade Indian rugs, bags and cushions 💫 The buying team’s adventures continue and they’re now in Jaipur, the largest city in Rajasthan, exploring workshops and factories and discovering so many exciting goodies to bring back to the home store 💜🙌💛 Everything we’re sourcing is handmade and from small, independent workshops and designer who treat their staff fairly and create their wares using tradional Indian techniques.

It’s really cold 🥶, it’s still January 🍂 and many of us are feeling a little low 😴. It’s totally normal to feel like this at this time of the year and that’s why it’s even more important than ever to look after yourself from the inside out. Our garden also feels the January blues and not much is blooming right now, so rather than our normal health juices we’ve turned to these amazing @bumblezest health shots for an added boost of vitality! Each different shot is designed to help deal with the rigours of modern life and they taste great too! Focusing on health, completion, weight management, vitality and overall wellbeing they pack a punch in flavour and goodness and you can find them in our café now!

🍎📣 WASSAIL 📣🍎 On Thursday evening we celebrated Wassailing, a traditional ritual that has been practiced in the cider-producing counties of England since the middle ages, and may well be much older. The word ‘wassail’ has its roots in Anglo-Saxon, and is a greeting meaning, ‘be in good health’. Wassails are usually held in orchards on Old Twelfth Night, the 17th January (following the pre-Gergorian calendar) and the idea is to bring good health to the orchard by blessing the ...trees and scaring off evils spirits. To this end everyone is encouraged to make as much noise as possible - blowing horns, banging drums and saucepans and shouting! A Wassail Queen leads the procession to the orchard, where the wassail drink of hot spiced cider is passed round in a many-handled sharing cup. While a traditional wassailing song is sung, the Queen climbs an apple tree where she hangs bread dipped in the wassail drink. In our wassail the local militia ‘scour’ the trees with their muskets, Druids perform rites, Mummers perform a play and many mythical characters appear, such as the Horned God, the Green Man, and the Ooser (or child scarer!). We’ve been celebrating wassailing for 3 years now and each year the evening gets louder, more varied and more exciting. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved and here’s hoping for a fruitful harvest in 2019!

Medlar Jelly in production 👩🏻‍🍳. This is a staple in our house over Christmas, it's simple to make and is wonderful added to gravy, and it tastes amazing with cold turkey sandwiches! We've always struggled with getting it to set properly though, has anyone got any tips?

🌟INDY FRIDAY🌟 How sweet would these little chaps look on your Christmas tree 🎄🐹? We’re supporting Indy Friday today, an initiative created by the people behind #justacard to raise the profile of independent businesses on a day typically dominated by the big brands. Buying even just a small item from an independent business at this time of the year goes a long way to helping ensure our high streets stay strong and continue to offer a variety of shops and independently owned businesses. It may be just a card, but try to shop small this Christmas and help support the little guys 🤗.

When we first viewed Deans Court my husband and I knew we had to have our wedding here, it really was our dream venue, it had such a romantic feel and the land was picturesque. We can’t thank Jonathan, Amy and the team enough for their help in making our wedding day just perfect, we felt everyone was attentive and approachable throughout our planning and on the actual day itself, even though we were the last wedding of the season, we did not once feel that everyone was ready to wind down and get our day over with, which you so can often feel at such times. The venue itself was so lovely the marquee felt like a blank canvas with its neutral tones, it allowed us to really personlise it to our theme and the large land outside allowed our fun side to show, it was just enough space for our Carnival games. To complete our wedding weekend we also hired Apple Cottage, it really added the finishing touches and we will definitely be back to visit, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We really can’t recommend Deans court enough.

Went to the most amazing wedding at deans court last Saturday. Wonderful setting, fantastic staff

We stayed in plum cottage for a weekend in September and we had a wonderful time. The cottage had everything we needed. We arrived to find some stunning flowers and we ordered the veg box which included veg and herbs. We cooked most of it. Beautiful views of fields out the back and a lovely wood burner. Fantastic to be so close to town and amenities but it felt very peaceful. My brother stayed in the shepherds hut which had a wood burner and heater and was very cosy. Fabulous! Would have loved to have done a tour of the house and gardens but this is only available in the summer

We booked Dean’s Court for our daughters wedding venue and it was absolutely fabulous

The setting is unbeatable, the day ran like clockwork thanks to Jonathan and his team

The food was delicious and the in-house florist did an amazing job. If you want the quintessential English country garden wedding with a marquee you simply can not better this venue. Thank you for delivering an outstanding day

This place is just magical...we had our wedding here this weekend followed by a 2 night stay in the cottages. I could not rate this place highly enough for a wedding. The staff are amazing, Jonathan Cornish is a credit to this place, he was professional, helpful, and had a calm personal approach throughout the planning process and on the day. And as for the flowers! Kelly did the most amazing job of decorating the marquee and all my guests were blown away by the beauty! Keep this place the hidden gem it is, and don't change a thing! Perfect

Our wedding reception was held at Deans Court, May 2017. We fell in love with the venue and the people 7 months earlier when we had a viewing with Kelly-Marie early one misty October morning. The place is peaceful and romantic, a hidden gem! It didn’t matter where we looked there was another beautiful back drop in the grounds of this beautiful country house. You’ll have a lot of fun with the photos as there are numerous spots to create memorable shots.

Jonathan was our contact to start to organise our day, even to congratulate us post honeymoon. The personal touch means a lot to us. Everything was simple and easy to arrange, there are plenty of choices and options to make it your day. Jonathan was always available for a call and email replies were prompt.

We had a second visit to Deans Court, as we chose to taste our wedding breakfast with the in-house caterers. They didn’t disappoint and they are one of our biggest compliments from our guests. At our second visit we met Julia, our planner for the day. Nothing was too much for Julia; and there was plenty of attention to detail on the lead up to our day and the day its self. Julia personally welcomed us to Deans Court on our day, greeting us as the car arrive in front of the house with a glass of champagne.

Kelly-Marie is the on-site florist and we were blessed to have her for our flowers. The list of Kelly-Marie’s talents is endless. We were presented with a pack full of ideas from the information we had given Kelly-Marie at our meeting, our colours and theme were challenging, Kelly-Marie didn’t make it so. The flowers Kelly-Marie arrange at the Church became centre pieces, the festoon of ivy and lights were so simple yet elegant and a pop of colour. It didn’t end there, each of our bridal party had some flowers from Kelly-Marie, all incorporating our colours of hunters green and silver!

The day before the wedding we had a few hours to set up the marquee. One of the members of the Deans Court team were there to assist. They made the table arrangements a breeze and the logistics of store all the packages & bags for our items seamless. The morning after our wedding Deans Court had packed up all of our decorations and wrapped up all of our vases from the centre pieces.

We were very lucky to have perform at our wedding a local group of Chinese lion dancers. The space at Deans Court is extremely versatile and the outside space in-front of the marquee was perfect for their performance. We also had use of the garden games during our reception drinks and canapés, great fun if you have younger guests and brought of the competitive edge in our elder guests, superb action shots in the photos.

We hired Apple cottage over the weekend of our wedding and stayed overnight after the wedding. This was extremely handy for outfit changes and having a place for our band to relax in between sets. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a country theme. It has everything you need for a few nights stay. The location is very quiet, just what we needed after a busy few days.

Our day was simply the best; made by the wonderful team at Deans Court, plenty of photo opportunities, beautiful grounds with attention to detail, a delicious wedding breakfast overlooking the tranquil lake followed an evening of dancing. We can’t thank Jonathan, Julia, Kelly-Marie and the team at Deans Court enough. They helped us make lifetime memories which we fondly look back on and smile about.

My wife & I spent our wedding weekend at Deans Court, Wimborne from Friday 12th August to Monday 15th August 2016.

We had our blessing ceremony on Saturday 13th August in the glorious grounds of DC.

From just looking at the website of Deans Court my wife & I fell in love – I remember wanting to book our dates with Jonathan over the phone then and there. We did visit DC before setting it in pen, but it didn’t take much convincing. This was the place for us!

Deans Court encompassed everything we wanted from a venue – everything in one place. Something which was made simple from the start and throughout – even having our guests stay in nearby hotels was no problem at all.

Jonathan and his team at Deans Court were an absolute pleasure from start to finish, inception meetings, to setting up on the days prior, right through to the Monday morning and helping us pack down all our gear.

All of our guests staying on sight were over joyed with the venue, settings and accommodation at DC! The Gate House and Cottages are just stunning! They were just such an incredible addition to everything! The welcoming touches of having milk in the fridge, luxury toiletries etc. was a lovely & warming addition!

And our guests overall remarked at what a gorgeous venue we had booked, and how clever it was to have accommodation on site for the wedding party!

Catering and overall staffing throughout the weekend was absolutely fantastic! The food was just what guests wanted and they were thoroughly impressed with the BBQ food on the Saturday evening and cold buffet on the Sunday!

Having Jonathan at the helm for our special weekend definitely made us at ease – the day itself just ran so smoothly having Jon & Julia (Bellissimo) running behind the scenes – our guests were thoroughly entertained and looked after – I still want to play all the lawn games!

Overall, we cannot thank Jonathan, Sam & everyone at Deans Court enough for absolutely everything and bringing our incredible wedding weekend to life! Our wedding party and ourselves are already missing DC so very much! We joke, but I think you’ll be welcoming us all back for a weekend soon!
