Oh my goodness what an incredible day and experience for our students performing at The Shaftesbury Theatre in London yesterday. You girls absolutely shone and I am so incredibly proud of you. Your professionalism back stage and on stage was truly wonderful. I had a fantastic time with you all and I would like to say a massive thank you to Connie for her outstanding choreography, Sharon for the amazing hair and makeup and the Theatre 🎭 team for inviting us and last but not least the Parents for supporting the children and school!! What an experience 🎭🎭 Look out for us in the Oxford Mail and Witney Gazette xxx

Found this today on Facebook, thought I would share it with everyone!
Does your dance teacher nag you about your hair? Taking off your jumper in class? Being appropriately groomed? Do you know why!? She's preparing you for life out in the world. Wear your uniform with pride. Be ready for class, show you have prepared, show that you are ready, show that you care. Look like a dancer - feel like a dancer for casual clothes in class equals a casual mind. Show up, look the part, ...don't hide under jumpers. Your body is your instrument - show it so you can grow. Be ready to receive corrections with humility and grace - they are your teachers gift to you. When you hide, you avoid feedback. When you get no feedback, that's when you should start to worry... Your teacher has given up. She doesn't want to ask you to take off your jumper one more time, do this yourself, and be ready. Be humble and hungry. This is why good grooming is important.

I couldn't be prouder!... It's not always about the Wining! but the taking part too and all the other things that you experience during the whole process of rehearsing through to performing!! Thank you to all the parents for being so supportive this weekend. It was lovely to spend time with you too. Next stop West End, London on the 7th October. Can't wait 😊

Such a good read! Parents please read this. Really highlights my own concerns, especially when as a Principal and teacher we have to pick up the pieces and correct bad technique that have previously been taught at a very early age.
