Decarbonisenow!

DecarboniseNow is a youth-led not for profit social enterprise and network, which aims to research and enact the best policies to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in the UK as quickly as possible. This process is known as decarbonising, hence the name ‘DecarboniseNow. ' We aim to do this through multiple means. Firstly, we will be writing policy documents researching what policies work best in certain areas based on existing literature, direct research and real world events. These policy papers would be written under guidance by any of our Friends of DecarboniseNow provided they pass certain requirements. Once DecarboniseNow is further up and running, the Friends of DecarboniseNow will act as volunteer members and contributors, ultimately creating a volunteer workforce to write publications and run campaigns. A primary aim of DecarboniseNow is to have as many ‘Friends' as possible, creating a large volunteer base to work on multiple projects under the direction of the main board of directors. Secondly, we also aim to run campaigns, which would work with and advise various policy makers and decision makers to achieve the best results for tackling climate change with these groups. We also will run events such as seminars. We are an independent, not for profit group run by volunteers, representing concerned citizens. We aim to communicate information about and campaign for climate change action in the UK, because we believe it is the right thing to do to safeguard the UK's domestic climate change policies and create new ones. We aim to bring together as much talent as possible from concerned civil society, pooling this in our membership to have as many writers, researchers, communicators, activists, negotiators and more to create a fighting force to ensure that the UK is at the forefront of the global race to battle climate change. What we are notWe represent a common cause, not an ideology – we are not aligned to any political party or philosophy. Our only policies are that the UK needs to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions as quickly as possible, whilst not negatively affecting society or the economy. Our aim is to unite all those who share this view, regardless of other political or philosophical views. We attempt not to bring in other environmental or more general issues, philosophies or perspectives.
