Decathlon Stockport

Masses of choice, good value and friendly helpful staff. Can't go too far wrong. Our kids have had coats from Decathlon for years and they've always lasted very well. I personally like their running kit, which is a good fit for me and really good value.

A great "everything under one roof" sports and outdoors store.
The store is huge and spacious inside yet it carries more gear than you can imagine.
What activity you are into, Decathlon can kit you out.
Fantastic for camping, cycling, skiing, walking, all ball sports, snorkelling and scuba, climbing, horse riding, martial arts, keep fit, hunting and fishing, supplements & nutrition, it's all here!!!
They sell their own brand clothes and equipment but also certain big name brands.
Just note that in winter, they carry more skiing and snowboarding gear than camping kit which makes total sence.
These stores are dotted all over France too where we discovered them, so if you're away on holiday you can pick up gear as you go.
Visiting is highly recommended!!

Awful. The unprofessionalism of the bike workshop staff here is unbelievable.

Do not use - support your local bike mechanic instead. Lesson learnt for me.

After spending close to £100 on getting my bike serviced, you would expect your bike to be fixed with no issues.
NO! They didn't test or set up the bike back up properly and seemed to miss / fix the initial issue of the bike.
When arranged to bring it back in to be fixed I got ACCUSED, a number of times, by two members of staff, of tampering with the bike! Not true and this couldn't of happened.

Bike is still broken - DO NOT TRUST - Support your local bike mechanic instead

Great range of equipment for fitness, camping, cycling, outdoors and other categories. Opportunity to try out some equipment. Seems like plenty of staff on hand to give guidance.

You can easily find here anything you want, even something what you were not looking for...great choice of sport clothes but can be confusion with the sizes...like, I have almost 7 years old daughter. Size 8 of swimming wear was very small for her though she is very fit. I ended up buying swimming suit for 10 years old. So you need to try everything really. I but sometimes several different sizes and check them at home. The good thing is that you have a one year return policy (still!!! Though many shops don't give you even 3 months any more)
All in all good shop, good products, good value for money and a very polite and helpful staff.

Always used to seem expensive here's now it seems I stop off an always buy a bargain.

The customer service and warranty is excellent.

Tonnes of free parking and they are happy to let you play about and try things.

I recently embarked on the simple task of purchasing my 12year daughter a new pair of football boots. I visited decathlon in Stockport and purchased some addidas boots, unfortunatley when I got home there was a stud missing.
I thought i'd nip into decathlon Stockport, safe in the knowledge that I had the original bag and purchase information at my disposal on my mobile phone banking app, but no receipt! The boots hadn't been worn and I hoped i'd get either a replacement stud or boots.
Unfortunatley this is where it all goes horrible wrong and my statutory consumer rights are abused and disregarded by the duty manager there. Having not been able to replace the stud or the boots the manager (Ruben) informed me that despite proof of purchase and the faulty goods he would not be able provide me with a refund but he could give me a gift card.
I told him that that was not really very useful as they did not have suitable alternative boots and I would need to look elsewhere. I asked to speak to the store manager whom I assumed would be able to apply a bit of common sense and a more reasonable response to a simple problem. I was told that he was the most senior member of staff available and refused to take the matter any further.
I am now left with a useless gift card and the expense of buying an additional pair of boots for my daughter.
If you value your basic statutory consumer rights and simple customer care and consideration I suggest you seriously consider shopping elsewhere. I will be..

As others have said, Decathlon has a great range of sports wear and gear for a huge range of activities.
We discovered Decathlon in France and was delighted to find them in the UK on our return.
Stockport is a huge store and is filled full of great priced items throughout.

On the phone trying to speak to someone at a time you say is not very busy, tried 3 different deps and non would answer kept referring back to menu options spent 30 expensive phone mins trying.

Much better than our usual store (Warrington). Large premises with a great selection of goods on offer. Spacious car park.
