AI, ML and data science offers a fantastic opportunity to the UK Defence and Security sector, from the automation of business processes to the capability augmentation of front line operators. Whilst adoption is underway, there is still some distance to go before we can claim to be fully exploiting the opportunity. The Defence Artificial Intelligence Cluster (DAIC) pools the efforts of a small group of companies offering AI as a force multiplier for the Defence, Aerospace and Security Industry and acts as a capability accelerator. The capabilities of the cluster include, but are not limited to: - Digitally enabled automated decision making (Digital Backbone)- Sensor fusion- Data fusion- C4ISR- Automated intelligence gathering, assessment and action- Joint operations- Uncrewed systems- Big data collaboration
