The development of a Hull Dementia Academy is an initiative developed in partnership with key organisations across the City to drive up standards of care for people with dementia and their carers.

A key objective of the National Dementia Strategy (NDS) is the need to have an informed and effective workforce for people with dementia. Health and social care staff involved in the care of people who may have dementia to have necessary skills to provide best quality care in the roles and settings where they work. The development of the Hull Dementia Academy will achieve this objective by providing effective basic training and continuous professional and vocational development in dementia.
