About Dents

Paintless dent removal (PDR) is a fast, highly effective dent repair technique that retains your original paint finish. Paintless dent removal reduces costs and repair times without the need for filler and paint. Compared to traditional body shop methods

Dents Description

#dents is a non-franchise company offering a dent repair service to trade and retail customers, throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. #dents runs an independent mobile repair service throughout East Anglia. The benefits of not being in a franchise means that the cost of a dent repair are kept to a minimum. A wide range of dents can be removed using conventional paintless dent removal techniques (rods or levers behind the panel of your vehicle) or where access is difficult then glue techniques are utilised. #dents appreciate the value and appearance of your vehicle and attempt to achieve a 'perfect' repair. I also accept the challenge of more technical repairs, that other technicians might decline. My motto is: 'repairing dents without the expense'. Paintless Dent Repair enables you to retain the originality of your vehicle's paintwork, significantly reduce the cost of a comparable body shop repair and also the need to rely on a courtesy car as the vehicle can be repaired at your home address or place of work.

Very difficult decision to make, but having listened to the PM this evening I have decided to postpone all current bookings until I am confident that I can travel to and from my customers without putting them or my family at risk.
Please feel free to continue to send pics or make enquiries. I will be back #staysafe #stayhome #survive

A nasty crease on the wing of this gorgeous Audi SQ5 kept me busy on Friday morning. I wasn't sure how the damage was going to play, but I took my time and carefully pushed the metal to achieve a good repair. 2hrs work and saved the customer £££ over a conventional body shop repair.

Safety in numbers... first full day back at work today and I had a couple of nice dents booked in. First repair was on the offside bonnet/front wing of a MINI Cooper and the second offside front door of a VW Sharan.
Both dents had noticeable paint damage, with scuffing and scratches along the panels. This can sometimes be a disadvantage as the full extent of the dent can't be seen and it also means that the panel will never be 100%.
The MINI repair was a combination of glue p...ulling and restricted rod access. A couple of sharp horizontal creases took most of my time, but overall I was pleased with the improvement.
The VW was glue pull all the way... and yes, the majority of the dent did pop out relatively quickly. I had advised the customer that this might be the case, but also advised that there were 3 or 4 areas on the panel that would still need a bit of patience.
Both repairs were completed in 1½ hrs and saved both customers a considerable amount of time and money over a conventional body shop repair.
If you have a dent or two, give me a call, send me a pic and I'll let you know what I can do.
Happy new year!

Back to work with a bang... waiting for the tumbleweed to pass 🙈.
I had an enquiry whilst I was away getting married. My wife kindly offered to assess the images attached to the email and almost dropped the phone when she saw the damage. Karen isn't officially qualified to assess my customer enquiries, but over the past couple of years she has a good idea of what I can and can't do (especially diy, painting, mowing the lawn etc 😊). On this occasion, I totally agreed with Kare...n. This was a dent too far...
So, I messaged the customer and explained my reservations about his dents and recommended a local body shop to repair the damage using conventional techniques. Unfortunately, the customer replied with 'I'd be happy with an improvement...'.
An improvement is easier said than done, particularly when there is very limited access and the damage is as severe as this. I agreed to take a look in person and attended the dent this morning.
Following a 20-30 min chat about not doing the repair, bmx bikes and hoovering, we decided that I would attempt a repair and see how it went. I agreed a price, time and conservative outcome and set about the damage.
Just over two and a half hours of glue pulling, tapping, polishing and more glue pulling I reached an acceptable improvement. Mr TD was over the moon with the improvement and although not my best repair this year, was glad to take it on and save the customer a few pounds.
One more repair to go and its a Merry Christmas from me 😉

November to January is possibly the worst time of the year to be working outside, but dents still need repairing and the enquiries keep rolling in. As I haven't posted a before and after pic for a while I thought I'd share this morning's repair.
Mr JT contacted me after his 2006 Audi A3 had been damaged, whilst parked off road. He thinks the dent was caused by a kick. The muddy residue on the wing and unusual distortion would lead me to agree.
So, with a 13yr old car in ...very good condition you have a few options:
1. Conventional body shop repair (£££) 2. Paintless dent repair (£) 3. Source an age/colour match wing from an auto salvage and then replace (££) 4. Do nothing and live with it...
Mr JT considered the top 3 options, but as he put a value of approx £1500 on the car, he didn't consider 1 or 3 being economically viable. I quoted £75 - 90 and booked the job in. My brief from the customer was to get the shape of the wing back and anything over 80% would be more than acceptable.
After a couple of hours of glue pulling (due to limited access), lots of tapping and a bit of pushing, I achieved the results shown below. The customer watched every bit of the repair, but held his comments until the end...
When I arrived at the job it was 4° and I wasn't relishing the prospect of 2 - 3hrs kneeling beside this nasty dented wing. I don't charge if I'm unable to achieve a good repair and this can often influence my decision to tackle a dent. Mr JT was extremely grateful that I did stop for the repair and was more than happy to 'test' the functionality of my card reader 😉.
Job done!
If you have any niggling dents on your car or van, please get in touch with me. Send me a couple of pics to dents-norwich@mail.com or my mobile phone and I'll let you know if I can help.

The 2 questions I get asked more often than not are: Do you do paint and how do you accept payment?
Without directly answering the first question, I'm a paintless dent repair technician (no filler, no paint... sorry). As for the second question, its always been cash, cheque or bank transfer. That is, until today. I can now offer all of my customers the additional option of card payment.
I saw the iZettle card reader in a local football club (Wymondham Town FC) and asked the... barmaid about it. After doing a bit of research, izettled on Sumup. Exactly the same (or very similar to iZettle), but with a slightly higher start up fee, but lower cost per transaction.
So, whether you need a dent repair or not, come and have a go with my card reader...

White vans need ❤ too...
My neighbour is an extremely busy delivery driver and is often on the road by 5am. Due to his working hours, it has been difficult for me to book his van in for the repair.
Anyway, today was the day. A typical wing dent, but sometimes more challenging on larger vehicles (4x4, twin cabs, vans etc). The panels tend to be larger, heavier and more unstable.
... I had noted that there were several heavy scratches and a crease running through the dent. Some of these were polished out, but the main horizontal crease took a bit of effort to get moving. After 1.5hrs of pushing, tapping and pulling I packed my tools away.
Probably need another 30 mins or so to finish off the finer details, but overall I'm happy with the improvement. Customer hasn't seen it yet, I think he's turned in for an early night 😴

Be careful who you lend your car to. Repeat customer somewhere in the Norfolk countryside...
A nasty 'double tap' dent on the upper panel of this gorgeous Mercedes. Last visit, I struggled with the repair to the front passenger door, but on this occasion access was spot on. My only problem/excuse/complaint (* delete as applicable) was a slice of sound deadening material across the site of the damage.
The paint transfer polished out well and following 30 mins or so of gentle pushing, the dent was greatly improved.

Finished the week off with a high... had a nasty Audi A1 tailgate that I couldn't do this morning, however I had an afternoon appointment with this beauty... first time I've got up close and personal to a Tesla (apart from filtering on the A1 on a Friday). What an exquisitely gorgeous vehicle.
Anyway, back to business. A tiny 'car park' dent just below the bodyline on a 2 month old car. I could sense the customer's pain. Once the dent had been located and access identified, t...he customer handed me what appeared to be a Tesla credit card and then proceeded to update the central locking system on his mobile phone.
Access was gained down the side of the frameless window. Design touches and technology that I've never seen. Cameras everywhere and no clue whether big brother or Mr T were watching me.
The repair was relatively straightforward and completed within about 15 mins. Advice was sought from detailing guru Stuart Staples (aka Auto-Genie) on the best way to correct the minor paint blemish.
Key card returned permission granted to take a couple of pictures. The dent was too small to clearly pick up on a pic, but here are some after pics.

Got a call earlier in the week about a potential dent repair. Chap on the phone had unfortunately clipped a friend's car (Vauxhall Zafira) and wanted a quote for the repair.
On first inspection, I was confident that I could repair the damage, but without seeing it in person I was unable to guarantee the outcome. The difficulty for me is committing to a repair where a 3rd party is paying for the damage to another person's car. The 3rd party want to minimize their expense, howe...ver the vehicle owner wants their car restoring to its former glory.
Appointment booked and vehicle viewed this morning. After much discussion between customer and car owner, 'we' decided to go ahead with the repair. I had quoted for 1.5 to 2hrs for the repair. I guess a conventional repair would be in the region of £250+.
Fortunately for all concerned I was able to repair the damage to the satisfaction of the car owner. The customer (who was paying the bill) was over the moon.
Smiles all round and thank you for your business.

I got 'zapped' by an ex-RAF customer earlier this week. Can anyone spot the addition?

Busy day today. First job was walking distance (for a younger man) away from my week day residence. The customer had been hit by another car and both agreed not to go through their insurance. Dent Devils and Chips Away had both declined tackling the repair as it was deemed uneconomic.
The before pic looks far worse than what I encountered this morning. Much of the paint transfer from the other vehicle had been removed, however my quote was based on the pic shown below and the... understanding that I was focusing on everything inside the red ring!
Just under an hour of push, pulling, tapping and polishing I achieved an acceptable improvement to the slightly grazed and dented front wing. Not perfect, but the customer's first words were 'I'm struggling to see where the dent was...'.
Was it worth having a go, rather than going through an insurance claim or undertaking a front wing, bonnet and bumper respray? I think so...
Get in touch if you have similar damage, small dents etc and I'll let you know what I can do for you.
