Derby ATA is a week long course running in December this year. Our main focus is on students who are looking into applying /auditioning for cds accredited drama schools /university. If you are unaware of what the conference of drama schools is (cds). It is 22 listed Drama schools in England which offer a BA hons degree course in acting. Going to drama school and studying acting is how roughly 90% of ALL stage, tv and film actors get started with their professional careers. And if acting is something you want to take seriously then drama school is the place you want to be. Getting into drama school however can be challenging, with an estimated 1500 to 2000 people auditioning for one out of 30 places (some only 20) each year. Derby ATA is here to help you prepare your monologues which you have to perform for any drama school audition. The monologues are a crucial part of the audition process as they show off what you can do as an actor. This goes to show in ANY acting related audition, not just drama school. At Derby ATA we will be working and reworking the monologues so they are solid and at their highest quality ready for auditions. Using Dramatic techniques and methodologies to strengthen the monologues and show off as much of your potential as possible making you stand out from the competition. Also we will be talking through the different drama schools and working out which are suited to each individual.
