Cumbria's premier Railway Society and Model Railway Group

The Derwent Railway Society was formed by a group of railway enthusiasts in 1979 with the aim of preserving the history of railways past and present within Cumbria. The Society are custodians of a growing collection of railway manuscripts, artefacts and memorabillia which are located in our headquarters and modelling sectoin club rooms at Phoenix Court. MEMERSHIP
Ordinary £12. 50 per year = 4 x news letters
'reet away' + consessions on entry fee to our Distington Venue and all important membership card, which entitles you to 10% discount at Jacksons models Wigton Cumbria
MODEL SECTION £12. 00 per month by standing order / direct debit = all of the above plus access to Phoenix Court on club nigths, Mondays and Thursdays able to run your own locos on club layouts get involved in modelling and access IT database all at our railway heritage center.
DISTINGTON COMMUNITY CENTER
illlustrated talks /side shows /film nights by invited guests. Friday evenings 7pm from September to April Members £1. 50 non Members £ 2 . 50 ( look out for updates)
GIFT AID The Derwent Railway society is a registered chartiy (No. 513341) and is able to treat your subscriptions as gitf aid, this means the Society is able to claim back tax from the inland revnue on this 'gifted money' it DOES NOT effect your tax posistion in any way, but is a valuable source of income to fund the excellent facilities at Phoenix Court.
The soceity operates a warm and freindly atmosphere and is open to members from all wails of life.
