Designer Yarns has brought together seven unique brands that offer comprehensive collections to inspire all types of knitter. We have spent the past twelve years nurturing designers and suppliers to bring only the very best products to an ever expanding marketplace.
Debbie Bliss:
Luxurious yarns from natural fibres, combined with elegant design set Debbie Bliss apart from the competition. From simple extra fine Merino wools to luxurious blends of Silk and Cashmere, Debbie Bliss Yarns represent the market leaders in their class.
C& B
The brand aims to encourage new and younger knitters to the craft. C + B offers a fresh, trendy, fun element to the industry. Without competing with any existing DB ranges the brand offers something different to inspire the younger, next generation of knitters.
Noro:
Noro Yarns unique textures and colours have no equal. Spun using highly specialised and luxurious materials like Silk, Angora and Cashmere with pure wool, each ball or hank of the multi-coloured yarn is individually blended to produce a unique palette of subtle shadings and vivid hues.
Louisa Harding:
Elegant, Unique and unapologetically feminine. Louisa Harding's portfolio of timeless classics have cemented her reputation as one of the UK's foremost knitting designers. With nearly twenty years in the business, Louisa launched her own range of signature yarns and publication in 2005, with garments and yarns designed to appeal to knitters with a certain sensibility.
Mirasol:
Andean culture is the source of inspiration for the Mirasol Range. Peru's heritage and culture of textile is rich and ancient. Promoted jointly by Designer Yarns, Du Store Alpakka of Norway, USA distributor Knitting Fever and Diamond Yarn in Canada the Mirasol Project supports local communities in Peru through sales of the Mirasol Yarn Collection, which includes beautiful and luxurious yarn made from the animals tended by these cpommunities for generations in the Peruvian highlands.
DY Choice:
The DY Choice brand was launched by Designer Yarns after retailer
feedback for an ‘affordable’ staple yarn brand that could be purchased
alongside our existing luxury brands. We met this demand with the
introduction of ‘Baby Joy DK, Aran with Wool & DK with Wool’.
These classics yarns quickly flourished , the shade ranges growing into established ranges and we expanded into quality fashion & novelty yarns.
Amano:
For thousands of years the people of the Andes have made offerings to the gods that they believe dwell in the mountains, the earth, the rivers and the sky. With Amano we want to bring back those magical beliefs to our time and through our hands, with creativity, feel the natural resources of the peruvian Andes ourselves. Amano is luxury in its purest expression and represents generosity, a gift from god, a taste of the Andes.
Brittany Needles:
Brittany knitting needles and crochet hooks are made in California from sustainably harvested birch. These finely crafted wooden tools are hand finished and exactly sized. They are not only beautiful to look at but feel warm and smooth in your hands and are a pleasure to work with.
