Back again.. and this time we have the return of the Mack(Dermott). Yes. Once again we have Dynamite Soul's boy wonder and his box of bombs. Expect everything from his trademark greazy pimpfonk, all the way through to 100mph gritty stormers, and plenty of surprises in between. We'll point him at the decks and off he'll go, smashing everything like the soulfunk Hulk he is.
... (Please note: Although Finlay has a physique honed to Adonis-like levels of perfection, Finlay is not a piece of meat to be pinched and fingered for your own sexual gratification. So please do not grope the Finlay unannounced. Finlay has feelings, you know. At least butter him up first with a few egg whites and maybe a tin of tuna. Thank you).
Same standard rules apply: Free entry. Thumping sound system. Party vibes. Rolling til 4am.
Nobody gives a toss what you wear or how you dance. Just get it on.
See yous there.

Aaaaaand we're back .
Saturday 2nd March, 10.30pm - 4am, we kick off with the first Deviant Funk night of 2019 in our splendid little basement of aural delights. Standard rules apply: Free entry. Thumping sound system. Shake a leg any way you wanna.
... True to our ethos of sticking on big-hitter guest DJ's right alongside quality lesser-known spinners who can bang em out every bit as well, we have procured a right pair for your delectation.
First up...
Mark White. (Representing that there Welshland) A man who shouldn't really need any introduction at all if you know wotswot when it comes to dance floor bangers. Mr White has played and blew up just about every up-front nighter out there, not to mention nearly every rare soul night/dayer/weekender of note.. With a collection to die for, ranging from Northern biggies to downright filthy funk bombs of the highest order, we can guarantee he'll smash it big-time and leave you reeling.
And then...
Scott Coombes. (Representing that there Lincoln). Scott who, you say? Well catch up. Unsung hero Mr Coombes can be found out there in the trenches most weekends, hammering out his own eclectic blend of funk, soul, jazz, breaks, and more or less everything in between. Never one to follow the 'flavour of the month' crowd, he's out there doing his own thing his own way. We likes that. And you will too. Play whatever floats your boat, we told him.. and that's exactly what he'll do. And it will be very bloody good indeed.
And of course, all of this alongside resident DJ's Bobelina of the Burrows and Sir Laces of Jaffacakeland.
Let's be havin yas then.

Well they told us it wouldn't work but we went ahead and did it anyway. And it worked 😊 That's our first year over and done in style, and we're looking forward to bringing you the same quality next year..
Massive thanks are in order for all of our guest DJ's:
... Kieran Lockyear. Paul Jude Bloomfield. Nik Weston. Finlay Mcdermott. John Stapleton. Mr Brooker. Atomic Dog. Jim Watkinson.
And big shout outs to everyone who got behind us and supported what we do. You know who you are. You guys make it what it is ❤️
And finally, thanks to Sotano management and staff for allowing us to party on like loonies in their fine establishment. (and apologies for all the broken glasses 😂)
Look out for us next year. We'll be back with dates asap, and rest assured we'll have more top-notch guests bringing you something a little different from the norm.
Fatty & The Bobster.

We're back! And it's Crimburr Partehh!
Standard routine - you know the score. Heaving basement venue.... 2kw sound system. Party vibes. Free entry. 4am finish. Wear what you like, dance how you fancy, party however you damn well wanna.
Resident DJ's Wayne Fatshoolaces & Bob Burrows, and two brilliant guest DJ's we've handpicked for your aural pleasure -
First up we have the one and only dog of atomical properties, Atomic Dog. (You may know him better by his stage name 'Martin McAuliffe'). A bit of a scoop is this one - because he's usually banned from facebook 95% of the time... (don't ask)... but we've managed to coax him into spinning for little old us. As Dynamite Soul's resident psychedelic-funk-meltdown specialist, expect a massive dose of dirty 70's wahwah business, pounding bass, scorching beats, and to lose most of your marbles along the way. He's also no slouch when it comes to the gritty soul stormers either. And did we mention he's a bit of a rare groove cat too? Dog. (Sorry). Dog. He's a bit of a rare groove dog. In short, he will nail it effortlessly... and then disappear into the night to pee up lamp posts and bark at stuff. It's how he rolls.
And then, true to our ethos of pushing DJ's who deserve to be heard way, way more, we have local lad Jim (The Beard) Watkinson. Jim has a beard. And he DJ's. With his beard. It's his thing. The beard. And DJ'ing. With his beard. Having a totally eclectic musical taste, and coming at this whole soul/funk thing from a totally different angle than most, you can expect some big surprises from Mr W. Lots of that crunchy southern soul, a sprinkling of those NOLA type thumpers, and plenty of omg wtf is this?! moments. Trust us. You'll love him. And if you ask him nicely he'll let you stroke it. Maybe even lick it.
That'll do ya. Ho ho ho.

A few snippets from Saturday night's Deviant Funk.. Tiny basement, huuuuge tunes. Serious props and fistbumps and all that shizzle going out to John Stapleton and Mr Brooker for blowing it up big style. It was quite a bit rather good, to say the least. 😍 And massive shout outs to all our regular funk fam, everyone who traveled, the cherry poppees who made it at last, and all the randoms who dipped in, saw, and proper went for it. And not forgetting Sotano, for looking after... us so well and allowing us to party on like lunatics. We done had ourselves a ball. You people keep coming, we'll keep rolling 👌
Next up, our xmas thingymajig. Details TBA. Stay tuned!

We're back! (And this time we'll be celebrating Mr Laces' 29th birthday (yet again). It may get a tiny bit slightly messy).
You know the drill:... Free entry. 4am finish. Heaving basement venue (with ice cool air con, thank the lord). Deep funk and heavy soul on original vinyl. Thumping 2kw sound system. Some of the finest alkerhols from all around the world. Wear what you like, dance how you fancy, party how you wanna.
Resident DJ's Wayne Fatshoolaces and Bob Burrows, alongside two guest DJ's who we believe ooze quality -
First up we have the living legend that is John Stapleton. Owner of Bristol's Wanted Records, and over 30 years DJ'ing just about everywhere.. Previously behind such seminal Bristol clubs as Def Con, The Cooker, Vision, and BlowPop. Compiled LPs for labels React and Harmless, including the Dope On Plastic series of compilations in the 90’s. A regular on the jazz/world stage at Glastonbury Festival. A WOMAD festival resident DJ. 10 year resident DJ at Bristol's Go Go Children and spots at just about every upfront rare soul & funk night going. Currently running his own nights - Easton Standard Time & Just Begun, and his Surface Noise radio show. Probably the finest collection of afro-funk in the UK. And about 500 other things too but we'd be here for hours. Suffice to say your ears are in for one hell of a treat..
And then we have Mr Brooker. 1/8th of the notorious Dynamite Soul crew, Mr Brooker doesn't do nice and fluffy. He only does hard and heavy. Hailing from Bracknell (deep dahhn sahhf), with a misspent youth heavily steeped in deep funk, break beats and DnB, he has his own very unique arsenal of exquisite bangers, unknown funk bombs and party-starters. With his trademark style of chopping and blending through multiple genres, his sets are truly something magnificent to behold.. Expect maximum mayhem, chaos and a full-on clattering beat assault..
That should do it. Let's have ya then!
