The Blue Flag is a prestigious, international award scheme which acts as a guarantee to tourists that a beach they are visiting is one of the best in the world. Awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education the Blue Flag beach award is widely considered the gold standard for beaches. The beaches have to pass numerous standards including water quality, environmental education and Information, safet...y and services and environmental management.

Ranger Debz is desperate to show you her new activity for 2019 - Fossil Cast Making! where you can make your own fossil and learn how scientists and archaeologists use them to unlock secrets of the past, including those that provide a remarkable insight into life in the age of dinosaurs. Ranger Debz is just waiting for some last minute pieces to complete this session, however if its not quite ready to go Ranger Debz will hold a session of survival bracelet making.
Paracord is... one of the most useful items to have on an adventure. From replacing a broken shoe string to making a fishing line, it has a wide variety of uses that come in handy in both day-to-day situations and wilderness scenarios, you'll always find one on Ranger Debz wrist.

✈️✈️ Its not too late to join in on a fantastic day out to Torbay Airshow this coming Saturday 1st June! Why not beat the car parking queues by heading to the Owners website to book your places on the coach. With free admission to the show itself, there will be a non-refundable cost for coach travel to and from the show for £3.00 per person, which is bookable via the Owners Website.
✈️✈️The Torbay Airshow has had huge success in the last 3 years, and is very well supported by... the RAF alongside attracting top civilian displays. The action-packed flying programme will take place in the afternoon alongside ground displays, entertainment, trade stands, fair rides, bars and catering within the event village on Paignton Green. There will also be military and airshow trade stands to browse, as well as plenty to keep the children entertained between the flying demonstrations.
✈️✈️The Event Village on Saturday 1st June will open from 11am – 6pm, with the air display programme running from 2pm – 5.30pm.
✈️✈️ Once your booked on, simply head to the South Beach Cafe Car park on Saturday morning where the coach will depart at 10am. 👍

🏆Due to popular demand both Bugsys and the Sports Bar will be showing tonight's Europa League Final. Chelsea are taking on Arsenal in an all-English final; the sides' only past UEFA competition meeting came in the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, the Blues winning 3-2 on aggregate.
🏆The screening of the match in Bugsys means there will be a slight amendment to the nights entertainment in Bugsys, the evening will run as follows:

More of our team success to share with you! Every month within each department, our teams vote for the person they feel has contributed to the success of the team and deserves recognition for excelling in their role to win the award of Team Member of the Month.
The winner for the Owners Team for the month of April was our very own Debbie! Debbie has worked at Devon Cliffs for many years (we cant say how long, as she might tell us off!) and is friendly, familiar face to many b...ehind Owners Reception working on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but as she cant keep away from us - she can also be found working behind the desk on a Saturday. With her sunny nature and habit of calling everyone 'flower' Debbie is firm favourite with our team as well as all our Owners!
Whilst not an official member of the lettings team, Melissa was voted for by Ellie and the letting support team for helping to assist the team throughout Ellie's absence when she was away in Australia at her Sisters wedding. Whilst not only helping to keep your GM Andy in check in her day to day role, Melissa stood in for Ellie to ensure all of letting owners were fully supported with their letting experience throughout this time, from ensuring holiday homes were cleaned and checked to also keeping an eye on Ellie's email inbox as well as her own, that's what we call multi tasking!
The overall Team Member of the Month for April was Pete from Grounds, Pete has been at Devon Cliffs even longer than Debbie (now that is a long time!) With his friendly nature and can do attitude, nothing is too much trouble for Pete who can also been seen working for security. A familiar and favourite face to many of our Owners, team and guests. Pete is always happy to stop for a chat so don't forget to bring up his award in your next conversation with him!

Our friends over at World of Country Life are hosting their very own 'Pirate week', this half term week from Monday-Friday.
Head over for some swash-bucklin fun with pirate themed activities galore and twice daily at 11.30am & 2.30pm, Monday-Friday the Pirate Ship Play Area will play host to an amazing pirate sword fighting show!
There will also be all the usual daily activities like goat walking, animal handling, bottle feeding, bird of prey flying display, ferret racing and the Deer Train to fill your day with fun!

This time next week, football fans up and down the country shall be getting ready to tune in to one of the biggest games of the season...and why should we be any different here at Devon Cliffs? Next Saturday's Champions League Final sees Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in an all English showdown out in Madrid. The match shall be screening live in the Sport's Bar and on the big screens in Bugsy's. Bugsy's shall open that evening at 5pm for Cash Bingo Sales with Eyes Down... commencing at 6pm. Coverage of the match shall begin at 7pm once Bingo has ended and the Pre-Match Build-Up gets underway.
If watching football does not interest you, then you needn't fret as we still have an action packed evening of entertainment in store for you down in Capone's! With a 4-piece band, DC Live, a fantastic in house production show and much more, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy!

Finally, FemmeOlution will perform at 10.30pm , A female vocal trio with a wide repertoire, taking audiences on a journey through the years of empowering female artists. From Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin to Little Mix, Beyonce and many more, there is something for everyone!
Whilst upstairs in Bugsys following Bingo at 8.45pm you can watch the soulful performance of Sylvia McEwen; a smooth, soaring, crystal, emotive vocalist performing Vintage Swing to present day hits.

... We recently told you that the dinosaurs have made their return to Exmouth, and launching alongside the upcoming Exmouth Festival the dinosaur trail begins on Saturday 25th May, with an official opening by the Exmouth Mayor at 5.30pm in the Strand.
