When considering buying an electric bike I found Gareth of Devon Electric Bikes both knowledgeable and patient. He was able to answer any questions I had and let me test ride as many different makes and models as I wished without pressure to buy.
Needless to say, I ended up buying from him and am very happy with my purchase.
I believe the true mark of a good dealer is in their after sales service.
I did have a minor problem with the bike not long after purchase which was dealt with without question and quickly to my total satisfaction.
