Diamond'S Gundog Rescue Adoption Page - Formerly Dsr Description

Diamond's Spaniel Rescue was set up in memory of my beloved DD (Diamond); I rescued him and his pups years ago. Rescue dogs are amazing and deserve another chance at life and love. I love animals and this is my way of helping as many spaniels as I can.

Myself and all the people who work for Diamonds are all volunteers and depend solely on donations & fundraising.

We help dogs from the UK mainly, but have also started helping dogs from Spain, Romania, Corfu and Cyprus.

Our main Facebook group is: https://www. facebook.com/groups /DiamondsSpanielRescue /
Please feel free to join, we have dogs under assessment on this group which will be posted on this page when ready for adoption, but feel free to join and follow their progress. If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting, please also get in touch.

In between our fundraising events we would welcome any donations. If you feel you have a little bit you would like to donate to our rescue then please feel free to donate at any time, we accept donations via Paypal and Bank, if you would be so kind as to use the friends and family option.

We have had a lot of people get in touch recently asking where we are. So for our new likes and followers, although its on our page. We thought we would do a post 🙂
So we have been running for 5 years now, each year it gets a little bit more hectic, but we don't mind! We are a Foster Home based Rescue in the UK & have a team of admins who are all over the UK. We do have some kennels in Wetherby and our new ones are currently under construction for our sanctuary dogs & for the... dogs which we take in which need rehabilitation before being placed into foster homes.
We are a rescue who Rescue, Assess, Rehabilitate and then Rehome. We are also Non-Destructive. This means that dogs that cannot be rehomed for multiple reasons, bite history, aggression, etc, we place in our sanctuary kennels where they are safe, for life. We also never put a dog to sleep unless it is upon vet and behaviourist advice.
We take every applicant and home on its own merit, we don't have massive blanket bans, if a dog has been with children, assessed fine with children, we will rehome it with children. If you work, as long as you have a dog walker to pop in and relieve the dog and take him/her out for a walk, we are happy for you to adopt. If you are older than most rescues permit, please get in touch, as we always have older dogs looking for retirement homes. If you have other dogs in the home, and one can't be neutered due to medical reasons, again, get in touch, we would be happy to place a neutered dog there. If you have a cat thats always been around a dog, again, get in touch!
Our criteria is, we want our dogs in happy, stable homes which suit them, with people who will love them, cherish them, and cater to their every need.
We promise to listen, we promise to help you find your perfect companion!
So please, get in touch, if you can foster or adopt!

EDIT: Micki is adopted! Just need to find Ricki his Forever Home now!! <3
These two gorgeous pups were originally taken by someone who wanted to keep them. Unfortunately they cannot and therefore they are looking for homes. They are the pups from Kanela and are Tilly and Bobbys litter mates. There is Micki & Ricki, their sister has a lot of interest. Their mother is a Springer and their father we believe Lab, given the look of them!
They are 6 months old, fully vaccinated, mi...crochipped inc rabies vaccine, and have an EU passport. They are wormed and flead.
They are great with other dogs, no issues with cats and due to their age we have no problems placing them with children. Also due to their age they will need someone to be in more often than not.
Their adoption fee is £440. This is to cover the passport fee of £90 and the transport cost of £350.
If anyone can offer any of them a home, please get in touch.

*AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER WITH THE VIEW TO ADOPT*
DSRUK051
Angel... Breed: Cocker Spaniel Cross Colour: Black and White Age: 2 Years Old Sex: Female Vaccinated: Yes Neutered: Yes
Description: Angel came into DSR in April. She arrived muzzled which didn’t really help her. So we removed that, popped her in a kennel to relax and then started working with her. Angel would snap out of pure fright. But she has come on in leaps and bounds. She will now happily sit on your knee for snuggles, her recall is really good, and she is such a sweet and gentle little girl.
Angel has unfortunately nipped a child, which is the reason she came to us, but she hasn’t shown any of this behaviour whilst under our care. Due to this and the fact she was living with 7 children previously, we would not home her with children. She would benefit a single household or a couple.
Angel isn’t overly fond on other dogs, so requires a home without other dogs.
Angel isn’t cat tested, so a home without cats is a must.
Angel doesn’t like crates (with good reason!) therefore a home without someone who has to use a crate is vital.
Angel will happily travel in the boot or back seats of the car.
Angel really needs a home where they won’t pressure her to do something, as that’s when her fear sets in, she needs to be able to settle in, adjust and then slow introductions to new things.
This little girl is really coming out of herself now, and we so wish for her to be adopted into her own home.
If you think you could offer Angel a Foster with the view to adopt home or an Adoptive Home, please get in touch.

*FRANKIE IS LOOKING FOR A RURAL HOME*
DSRUK052
Frankie
... Breed: Cocker Spaniel (Working) Colour: Black D.O.B: 20/09/18 Age: 10 Months Sex: Male Microchipped: Yes Neutered: No – Neutering Contract
Description: The gorgeous Frankie has been returned to DSR as his home life is not suiting him. Frankie before he came to us was shut away in a crate, he is only 10 months old. He has been kennelled whilst with us and is happy in a kennel. He can find living in a home kind of stressful and as a result can growl. Slow migration to a home environment would be possible as he does like to go into a house and sit with you for cuddles.
He is more than happy to live in a kennel. So we are putting feelings out there for a for a rural/farm/kennel type home.
None of these issues occur when he is outside running around and he loves outdoor life. Happy to play with toys, happy to be with people.
His recall is really good, he is great with other dogs. Not a fan of cats! He cannot be crated as he hates them, with good reason too!
At the moment, we are just putting the feelers out there to see if there are any types of homes that would suit his needs. We will continue to reassess him.
Please get in touch if you think you have the perfect set up for Frankie.

*FOSTER OR FOSTER WITH THE VIEW TO ADOPT*
DSRUK065
Charlie
... Breed: Cocker Spaniel (Working) Colour: Chocolate Age: 4 Years (we think potentially younger) Sex: Male Microchipped: No - will be done Vaccinated: TBA Neutered: TBA
Description: Unfortunately Charlie is having to be returned to us later on this evening. This is no major fault of his own, but he isn't overly fond of being left for too long.
Charlie is estimated at 4 years old, but we think he is potentially younger than that given how he behaves. He is lovely with people, a total snugly little man. He is docked so probably from working parents. Has great recall and loves a tennis ball, will search and play all day if you let him!
Charlie however doesn't like other dogs, cats or small animals. So needs a home without them. We would also say older children as he originally came from the pound.
If anyone can offer Charlie a Foster Home or a Foster with the View to Adopt Home. Please get in touch.

*ITS OUR BIRTHDAY!*
So yesterday was a bit manic, so we're having a belated birthday post!
Yesterday this fabulous rescue which was founded by the lovely Jane Turner turned 5 years old!
... With over 6000 members now, an active group and adoption page, with all your help with have managed to save & adopt over 500 dogs. Thats over 100 dogs per year.
We would just like to say a massive thank you to every homechecker, fosterer, adopter, the dog units which have taken on a few of our dogs and turned them into fabulous working dogs. We also want to thank those that just share our posts too. No act is too small and sharing a post may help find a dog a home. And not forgetting our donators, who have helped to raise money for our kennels so we can help even more troubled dogs & rehabilitate them, and have helped when we've needed help for large vet bills. Without all of you, Diamonds' wouldn't have been able to acheive all it has.
I personally want to thank all my colleagues at Diamonds', the hours which go into running this rescue, the heartbreak, the pain, the happiness, the relief. Nobody truely knows how much you all do! We're not just a rescue, we are an extended family unit and will always be around to help.
Picture of DD, because he is the reason we do what we do ❤
Oh, if people could post photos of their adopted dogs, we will make a video of all the dogs! 🐶

*URGENT FOSTER HOME REQUIRED BY THE WEEKEND*
Unfortunately the gorgeous Max (formerly Nikos) is being returned to Diamonds for the second time in his short life. Unfortunately his home is not the right environment for him now and despite behavioural help. Its made no difference.
Max is a 2 year old, English Springer Spaniel cross. He is fully vaccinated, neutered & chipped and also has an EU passport.
... Max is a very active dog, and requires a very active home. He loves to be busy. But he does have a few issues, although he loves children in the home, he's not fond of visiting children and has nipped. Therefore we are looking for a child free foster home. Nikos is fine with the resident dog, but can be snappy if a dog is OTT with smelling his bottom. Therefore we are looking for a dog free foster home too. Max has lived with cats before now with no issues shown.
Max is a lovely boy, but if not stimulated enough he does try to escape. He would massively benefit from Agility, Flyball or something which would mentally stimulate him.
If anyone can offer Max a foster home, please message the page.

All the dogs in this folder are currently under our sanctuary and will be for life. This could be for many reasons such as a history of biting, aggression and not safe to be rehomed to the public.
