I have been repairing old photographs for as long as I have owned a PC - almost 20 years.
The secret to good photo-manipulation is to know in what order to carry out adjustments - and to know when to stop.
I'm proud to say none of my work looks "photoshopped". Instead, I work sympathetically - using a range of software and tools - to ensure authenticity in the finished product.
... I never use batch processing - each image is worked on individually to ensure authenticity. In my opinion, if a photo looks "retouched" in any way, then the digital artist has failed.
