Tomorrow (Friday) will be the last day of the old town store being open 💔
I will be selling extra stock, samples and ex display items which will be available in store only at bargain prices to help me clear the stock room and studio. We’ll be open 9.30am - 5pm
The shop is closed today so that I can prepare for our final day of trading but you can still shop online & I have added some extra stock to the website as well as put some items in the sale too! I’ve removed all the ou...t of stock items online making it easier to shop what we have left as I know it was a bit crazy with all the SOLD OUT goodies!

It is with a very heavy heart that I share this news about the future of Dinky & Dandy…we will be closing the shop 💔
There are so many reasons for this decision which hasn’t been an easy one to reach but ultimately I am working full time hours on a business that isn’t making enough money to support my family
I’m sure you can appreciate that the overheads of a physical store are big which is why we have decided to close the Old Town shop - the good news is we will be staying o...nline. Which will allow me to stay true to my original vision for Dinky & Dandy which I think I’ve lost a little through the years since being a bricks and mortar store as I’ve had to be more commercial. This has meant I’ve not been able to focus on the fresh and exciting products we are known for as I had to focus on stocking things I knew would sell in store.
The physical ties to having to be at the shop most days especially during the school holidays with the kids have also been really tough as I’ve not been able to afford to employ other staff. Being a perfectionist I am forever feeling like I’m letting down my customers by not being here or failing my kids by dragging them in the shop. I think they’ll very much enjoy October half term which will be Fraser’s first EVER school holiday where he hasn’t had to spend most of it in the shop. Some customers from the early days in the old store will remember him being in there in the afternoons after nursery when I used to have to put up a sign whilst I rushed off to collect him! 🙈
I would just like to THANK every single person who has supported my little business in any way - from the customers who take the time to visit right from the early days in our tiny store to when we moved to our bigger current shop, for all of you who have shared commented on and liked my posts. All of this love a support means I can close the shop proud to have given it a go and to have helped make Stevenage Old Town a little more colourful 🌈🌈

I accidentally found this cute little shop full of lovely toys, cushions, cards and other eye catching little things. I fell in love with a vintage looking pink dolly and even though the shop was not open, I knew that I had to go back and get it! I went there yesterday with the perfect excuse to buy a gift for my goddaughter and the lady at the shop was so welcoming and helpful. Please do not miss out this shop when you are around the old town in Stevenage!
