What a lovely place to eat, the team our so friendly, we had such tasty food, excellent service, no additional service charge...or hidden extras..so I was happy to leave a generous tip..why wouldnt I ...when there is no corkage fee and the food was lovely.. Just remember....Euston Station is 2 mins away and has the most outrageously over priced, tastless pastries..coffees ...sandwiches....so think on wjen you make a negative comment xxx
This is the best lunchtime vegetarian Indian buffet ever. It's like going to a Gujarati wedding. Their signature dish is definitely the large chunks of marinated chilli paneer. I wish I had a stomach as wide as the Clyde to be able savour all the authentic dishes on offer. Excellent value for money and highly nutritious, fresh ingredients. Sometimes you must have patience for a table though, because the secret of Diwana is definately out.
If only Diwana was nearer... can't think of another restaurant I'd endure the 1 1/4 hr drive each way for..
Have been returning since 1986 when they used to have 2 smaller restaurants on opposite sides of the road.
Friendly staff with the most delicious menu and I'm not vegetarian!
Dream of the day there is a Diwana in Brentwood.
I love this place, best food ever... I been 4 times already at this place and bring all my friends here.
I have been dining here on and off since 1984! I absolutely love the dosa! Especially deluxe dosa! Nice ambience too. Bring your own beer / wine (shop next door)!
Great food, service, and value. The waiter basically told me to forget my original plan to get a lunch thali and, rather, get the cheaper buffet with more options that I had missed. Highly recommended.
First things first, the food is delicious and cheap. We had bhel puri, puchkas, aloo puri, and a dosa and I had literally nothing to complain about. They're very busy and the staff are usually unavailable to chit chat and breathe down your neck so that was a fresh change. They're not unfriendly, though, and they had probably the most flexible and customer-oriented service I've ever seen. I asked if it would be possible to have the puchkas with aloo instead of chickpeas and without any fuss, they made sure that I got exactly what I wanted. Definitely going again as soon as possible!
Delicious, authentic inexpensive food. It's basic decor inside but the food is the star attraction here. An assortment of people eat in here, hippy and city types. It's perfect if you have an hour or so to kill whilst waiting for a train st nearby London Eudton.
You either get it, or you don't. Service fast, food good, (vegan friendly), busy atmosphere, good prices. If it doesn't suit then try a neighbouring restaurant, but they have a style that works well...
Veggie, vegan indian food that really good. Good and fast service. Good takeaway service
Decent veggie food, at reasonable prices. Annoying that the waiter tried to put a 20% service charge into card payment machine without asking. The machine can be set at 5, 15 and 20% by the waiter. Customer service overall poor.
The good part: A popular place. Good food, especially the dhosas. Reasonable prices. Authentic South Indian.
The bad part: The waiters are unfriendly, verging on downright rudeness. They usher customers to the worst tables in remote corners even when the restaurant is three-quarters empty. The place needs a good clean. Surfaces are grimy and greasy. Don't use the toilets unless you really have to. Beware when paying by card. The payment machine seems to be set at 20% automatic tip by default.
In summary, this place used to great. It is now way past its best. No effort is made. They're just waiting for the bulldozers when HS2 will flatten Drummond Street.
Food was ok but we didn't get everything what was described for this dish. Waiter give bill and took away almost straight away so you can't check if is ok .Mashies was set up for 20% tips. In general disappointed by experience. Shame as food is ok .
Food taste average or just about average
Ambience lot to be improved- just too cramped
Persons manning tables need to be suggestive and helpful instead of being robots
3stars for the food. The interior decor needs updating and no much ambience because decor looks quite tired. Staff could be a bit more friendly. Other than that food was quick, hot and tasted fresh - really good. So if I'm not fussed about my surroundings would eat there again!
Unfortunately been before always okay. But last night, the Dahl was flavourless and watery and expensive. The mushroom bajee tasted as though it had been burned and scraped off and put back. The paratha was lovely.
The food is delicious but but the service is really poor. They were trying to charge us for 3 dishes when we were only 2 on the table, after arguing they received our money reluctantly :(
Not authentic bhel puri or chaat. The puri's in our pani puri were over fried, we had dahi bhalla & we had to send them back as the bhallas were old, greying & crumbly, they're supposed to be soft & spongy. We ordered bhajiyas & they came out within seconds & we all know that fresh bhajiya's take a few minutes to fry. Then to top it off when i recvd my change one of the coins was 1 cents!!!!!! There are much better chaat places in green street london instead or even wembley or southhall.
Very tastless food. Nothing like what it should br. Don't ever go and have food there. No taste in any food item. Never had such a bad kulfi in my life.
