Do It Thissen Records & Lathe Cuts is based in Sheffield, UK and supports the local independent /DIY music scene of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

"Do It Thissen" is Yorkshire dialect for "Do It Yourself" (DIY)

It was also the name of a 9-day long exhibition /event of September 2012 as part of the University of Sheffield's "Festival of the Mind" and which was curated by Dr Matthew Cheeseman and Jon Downing

The exhibition focused on the DIY /independent music scene which flourished in Sheffield and South Yorkshire during the years 1978 - 1982

Do It Thissen Records was formed in 2018 to support the DIY /independent music scene by releasing small runs of vinyl singles, EPs and LPs by local artists
