Are you in charge of cooking the Christmas dinner? Here's some advice from our chef patron Troy Terrington:
"Thereās nothing worse than being unprepared. A simple list with timings and actually using a timer really helps me. Preparing vegetables a couple of days beforehand also helps - I make things like sticky braised red cabbage and vegetable mash and then freeze them so that when I come to set up on the day I just defrost and reheat, job done!!"

We had an amazing night, the food was epic and the service impeccable. Huge thanks to Charles and Marco for making this night unforgettable.
Visited for the first time with two friends. There was absolutely nothing I could find wrong from food, staff , ambience, everything was absolutely superb.
I had the crab starter followed by the rack of lamb. Couldnāt manage a sweet but shared a cheese board with my friends.
Beautiful selection of wine and not too expensive. Will return.
First class service from our waiter David.
Very rarely do i write reviews but this is an exceptional eatery. Food was amazing and gluten free! That never happens but it did laat.night. i can thoroughly recommend it
This was our first visit celebrating our wedding anniversary. Food was excellent, service excellent and atmosphere very good. Will return.
Stunning! I can really recommend the lamb - very tender! The steak looked good too. Next time Iād like to try the taster menu. The service was very good and we loved the green leather booths, for that cosy atmosphere. Overall, a great place to go if youāre looking for a special a la carte evening meal.
Really impressed by this place ... great service, food and wine. Always been loyal to 21 cafe/bistro etc. But this place is on a different level!
Magnificent evening here for the birthday of my partner. Exceptional service from the moment we walked in & the food was beautiful. We had the 7 course tasting menu & I would highly recommend it!
Had an amazing 3 course dinner last night. Every course was so fresh and full of flavour., each ingredient complementing the next. The wine was delicious and the service impeccable. Then you throw in the fact it's 2-4-1 on a Tuesday and it makes fine dining at an incredible price. Will definitely be back.
Had a great evening here. Restaurant is beautiful, staff were wonderful and very attentive. Food was lovely, we had food from the set menu with matching wines. Was not disappointed and will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service. The staff really work to make the customer happy. They altered some of the recipes to cater for vegans, giving us numerous alternatives and letting us pick what we preferred, and made sure we were happy with our meals. It is a beautiful place with a great atmosphere. I couldn't fault it.
As regulars at both Blackfriars and Hinnies, we thought we'd experience the trio with lunch at Dobson & Parnell. We weren't disappointed. The ham terrine and cauliflower soup for starters, and salt baked swede and chicken with potatoes, broccoli and bacon for mains were all cooked beautifully, subtle seasoning and high quality, flavoursome ingredients. We will be back!
As a vegan, options at the restaurant weāre here. Most important for me taste, texture and service all combine to give a modern with the essential in your palate the right plate. Enjoyed myself ļæ½
Amazing, first visit and will definitely be back. Glorious food, knowledgable, friendly staff, just perfect all round! X
Amazing food, with lovely staff who were knowledgable about the food and friendly without being pushy or over bearing. Such a bargain too getting 2-4-1 on the Tuesday so very reasonably priced!! Would highly recommend
Amazing food, amazing service, made for a fansatic date night š will definitely be back again
Always splendid. We have eaten here on several occasions and it has always been fantastic. The food quality is outstanding with such an attention to detail. Service is perfect and all of the team really put their all into service.
A real gem at the quayside. The food and wine was excellent. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing, which was fantastic. A really interesting range of textures and flavours. If youāve not been, try it out soon!
Very excited to try this place. Had been much anticipated. First impressions didnāt disappoint. Classy, sophisticated and comfortable. Staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable.
Ham hock terrine to start were beautiful, followed by roast beef Sunday dinner that was lovely. Not too much to overfill and not too little to leave you pining for more. Slightly disappointed with desserts. Rhubarb and Honeycombe Mascarpone was delicious but the Rhubarb was slightly raw. Coffee ice cream and frangipane was disappointing as frangipane was very dry and creme brƻlƩe was amazing however it was accompanied by what was allegedly biscotti however it may have been mixed up with a piece of brick as it almost broke two sets of teeth!!!
Overall a pleasant experience but not one weād be racing back too.
We came tonight for our Valentines Day meal out. My starter of lobster terrine was amazing but my gnocchi main course with fish and beef was a little strange. We thought the meal was over priced for what it was.My fiancƩ liked his duck starter and his stake and chips portion was very small. The toilets were below standard for a posh restaurant. We wouldn't rush back this is disappointing as Black Friars has a lot more going for it.
