Always friendly staff, definitely needs a refurbish! I know it is a family pub but wish parents would stop their sprogs running around getting in people’s way. It’s a pub, not a playground. Cheap and cheerful.

I like the pub for a quick meal. Food is good but service is poor and slow and the pub is often dirty. However good priced/tasty food.

Ordering was a bit slow as a large party before us were ordering individually and only one order point open but food was good, service excellent. A nice place to go for a last minute "been too busy to cook" dinner. Not too expensive and good traditional menu.

This had good food and reasonable prices with deals and it shows Sky & BT Sports with a pool table & dart board at one end of the bar too.

Waited 15 mins to get served, then got told I had to join another 15 min queue for food! Got our drinks, went outside for a table and bought fish and chips from round the corner. Win

The food comes out way to quick and cold most of the time. I went there today & i left feeling very disappointed. The good used to be fresh, tasty and presented with high standards. I always order the chicken new yorker and it's vile now. The chicken is dry and I'm sure frozen chicken breast is used cos that's exactly how it tastes. The food has gone right down in my opinion. There's no pride in what is served and today my chips, onion rings were stone cold. The hungry horse in copford is so much nicer and the food is so good.

Nice big place with a restaurant and seating outside next to the kids play area. Food is mediocre at best. Staff are nice. If your looking for a good hungry horse head to the swan instead.
