Just another gentle reminder that DogFest South has been cancelled and we won't be at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, today. This is due to the hot weather predicted 💕

User

Hi #TeamSouth, just a gentle reminder DogFest South has been cancelled and we won't be at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, today or tomorrow. We're sad that we won't get to meet you but the weather is too hot for the event to take place - the welfare of all our visitors (human and animal) is our top priority! We're looking forward to seeing you all in 2019🐶💕

What a brilliant day!! We went on Sunday to Bristol. so much to see and do and met so many friendly like minded dog people and lovely dogs. Noel was lovely to see do his talk and it was nice to see him go round all the stalls meeting everyone. Chris packham - he was so nice; and you can really see the passion he has for animals when he speaks. Such a lovely guy. All in all , lovely day - very hot so we invested in a cool jacket which will come in handy this summer. I would agree that there wasn’t masses amount of shade, however my dog would find some either by the stalls (under the tables sometimes) or stage so as long as she was okay and shaded I wasn’t overly bothered about me. The stall holders were great, very informative about their products and not too pushy. Such a great day, our dogs were flat out by the time we got back to Swindon. Well done to the organisers and for everyone who took part x

User

We loved it and the poochies did too. The only disappoint was the internet signal wasnt strong enough for quite a few stalls so we couldn't purchase goods with our card which must have been very frustrating for the stall holders too. There was a cash machine but it was pitched in the car park. My point being take plenty of cash!!

Really great day out, well planned, well executed, plenty of everything for the Dogs even given the weather (shade, water, pools) - everyone had a great time. Definitely waiting for next years date to put it in the diary.

Chris Packham has give me a new appreciation of Ticks and Fleas - he loves bugs a bit too much for my liking! The talk was excellent and very informative - really well delivered.

Great dog walk was not disabled (mobility scooter) friendly as we had hoped :-( so I couldn't go for a walk with my husband and dog.

A brilliant day out!

My first time at DogFest and I absolutely loved it! So much to see and do that I’m thankful I had a weekend ticket so 2 days instead of just 1. Some amazing stalls with all such of cool goodies to purchase at reasonable prices. I met lots of great people and loads of different dog breeds! Most importantly Jax really enjoyed taking part in the dog dive, the have a go agility, fly ball, temptation alley, school 4 dogs trick training and the fun dog show

The only downfall for me was that there wasn’t enough shade for everyone to sit in, that’s all.

If possible, through you, My mum would like to thank the Animal Welfare Officer who I think is called Tim and the vet, who’s name escapes me, for both coming to my mum an dads stand on Saturday and Sunday at odd occasions during the day checking on me. At the ripe old age of 18 in a few weeks I was most probably one, if not, the oldest dog there. This gesture was much appreciated as when your serving customers it’s not always easy to spot when things are not right. Plus if they leave me at home I have separation anxiety and make myself ill. Please convey this message to them. Paws crossed I will see you at Knebworth. Lots of licks. Harvey (Lovejoys stand).

Had a great day at Dogfest. Even though I don’t own a dog now since losing my much loved Border Collie it was great to spend the day amongst so many four legged friends. They all seemed to be having a great time. It was well organised and full of fun things to watch and participate in. Noel is a great guy too and it was nice to see him close up in the temple gardens as he passed my daughter and I as we looked at pond life amongst the lily pads. I spent part of my childhood living on the estate and it was great to be back there to enjoy such a wonderful event.

User

Absolutely wonderful day today. Well done team, there was something for everyone. So glad there was an event near us this year. Yes it was extremely hot but there was lots of drinking water and paddling pools. Our cool jacket was worth it’s weight in gold and the shaded areas were appreciated along with having a good old brolly and a fan. We bought some fantastic products and there was a very good range of stall offering great discounts. Thank you all we loved it

I went to the Bristol show and enjoyed it, as did my dog. However, I did think that it was odd that there were almost no local charities represented there, such as Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary. Then I looked at how much a stand is - £925+VAT (£1110) appears to be the cheapest option, and hence all the local charities have been priced out. Surely you should be able to offer some pitches to local rescue and rehoming organisations for a nominal sum?

It's also a shame that the dog diving only seemed to have a very limited number of slots and long queues. Surely more than one dog could have gone in at a time? I didn't want to waste half the day queueing so my water loving dog didn't get a go. Not sure I expected to have to pay for the activities such as flyball and agility either, after paying £19.50 to get in...

We took our 2 dogs and our friends 2 children to dogfest in Bristol today. It would have been a lot nicer had there been a lot more shade but there was one tent which was full to the rafters and no trees or shade anywhere else. We had our own water for the dogs but it would have been nice to see more down from the organisers. The biggest issue was no shade. On such a hot day we did not want the dogs or the kids to continue to suffer so we just left. We weren't there that long. And the exit signs in the car park were non existent. *edit* Dog Fest have promised to increase the amount of shade and water provided at their next event which is a really positive step and feel as though mine and others comments have been listened to. Thank you (changed from 1* to 3*)
