Domestic Abuse Peer Educators Description

Our names are Laura and Sophie and we are currently running workshops in a variety of schools, colleges and youth groups in the north east. Our aim is to educate young women about domestic violence and healthy relationships and eventually develop a network of domestic violence champions across all high schools, colleges and youth settings. A domestic violence champion is a young women based in their own school, college or youth centre who will be a point of contact for any young women with issues around relationships or domestic violence. We will be delivering a teenage safe 4 life course starting the 13th January 2016. It will be ran by ourselves between 4: 30 and 6: 30 pm every Wednesday night for 10 weeks. The safe 4 life course will give you a clear understanding of relationships both good and bad, how to stay safe and make you feel stronger and better about yourself. any young woman who is between the age of 13 and 19 is welcome to attend if they feel it is necessary for them. There is also an adult safe 4 life course for anybody over 19 who is being or has been effected by domestic violence.
