The aim of the JUST A CARD campaign is to encourages people to value and support artists, makers, small businesses and independent shops, by emphasising the simple yet powerful message that all sales, even just a card, just a book, just a gift etc will make a huge difference and will be so appreciated. We work so hard to encourage people to appreciate the incredible benefits of buying handm...ade, or from an independent shop or businesses. All sales mean so much - they’re not simply about the money, they’re also encouragement, a boost - a happy dance - don’t you agree?! Sales keep shops in your towns open, they help artists, makers and small businesses thrive. (Don’t forget this means a takeaway coffee from a large multinational chain who probably won’t notice the few pounds - a wonderful independent coffee shop however it means the world!) It can be a tough month for many, especially for independent shops and small businesses as sales dwindle - very worrying as bills still need to be paid. So - please - if you possibly can - make that extra effort to shop independent this January and beyond. Once I was able to spend more than half an our out of bed I had a go at felting using a kit I was given last Christmas. I think his legs are way too fat and he looks more like a mouse than a badger but it was fun in between sneezing fits! #feltedbadger
